the one crazy thing that keeps coming to mind that could be possible, eventhough it sounds outlandish, is Nazi technology. They were working on UFO like vehicles at the end of WWII. If it's not aliens, it would be really insane if it were nazi remnants in hideouts around the world.

In the end I think its either future civilizations traveling back to this time period, e.ts or maybe some extradimensional beings.

Im sorry if you believe in this stuff and you find "doubt" offensive as many do, but there are a few things you need to understand.

1. A scientific theory is different to a "theory". It's something that has been proven beyond any shadow of doubt  but is still open to being disproved.

2. "Speaking about" made up things like an "afterlife" is in no way any kind of proof. Nor are religious texts any more than the Harry Potter books are.

Im really happy that people can come to terms with their accidental existence with this stuff but imaginary friends are things to grow out of, not to try and present as a legitimate alternative to actual facts.

Furthermore, since we're on the subject, why is it usually the religion of your parents that happens to be the "right one"? Funny thing, quite a coincidence that it works that way for everyone, and not a tiny bit like grooming.

I didn't say the ideas about the afterlife or energy had a convincing explanation by religion, whatever religion it is. That's the point. Then if no one can explain it, it won't change the fact that people have experienced things that can't be defined by any theory. Same thing with the UFOs. No one knows where those things came from. 

From what you're saying, I see you have a way of thinking that doesn't leave the door open for research on things that none of us know about, even if you choose to deny it all and stand from a very closed state of mind just like many religions do. There are many things beyond our comprehension that neither religion nor science can explain. 

And what makes you assume I'm a religious person. I do believe in science. But I'm also giving an open space to talk about things that don't have an explanation.

You are clearly religious otherwise you'd see what you are saying is incorrect and religion has literally zero legitimacy.

I have a fully open mind, and with that open mind I can consider all evidence put forward and mock the utterly ridiculous stuff accordingly.

For the sake of argument, I'd say they could be running tests or trying to prevent us from wiping ourselves off the Earth somehow, which is vastly different than thousands of people dying.

I don't seem them destroying us with our nukes. They would destroy our planet in the process, thus defeating the purpose. 

If they wanted to wipe us out as a species, they can easily engineer an advanced deadly disease that would wipe us out in no time.
