I like her and her music but I am not biased. It's clear she didn't speak politics not because she wasn't "aware" but because she knew that could be detrimental to her career. Still is good she now knows better. šŸ˜‰

Quite possibly. Take Dolly Parton, my queen, for example. She has always brushed off any political question. Like in the 70s they were a woman’s movement where they ripped off their bras off and set fire to them and a reporter asked Dolly if she would join and do it and she said ā€œit would take the fire department 3 days to put out the fireā€ (to the likes of it). Dolly has always been extremely a-political.Ā

I don’t get how no oneĀ sees this re-recording situation for what it really is.Ā
She’s asking fans to purchase music they essentially already have because she signed a bad deal. Cant hate though…because it’s actually working for her.Ā :selena:Ā From an outside perspective it looks like a really expensive tantrum.Ā

we live in the streaming era, where new releases don’t cost any money. all you have to do is delete the old version from your library, and download the new one. and, if you do wanna buy a physical or digital of the new version, it’s improved. the re-recordings are obviously done with better technology, but there’s also unreleasedĀ songs andĀ a new cover.

above all, though, this is a really important step forward in terms of artists’ rights, and allowing artists to own their work. people in the music industry are more aware, and more likely to think twice before signing away their masters, now

Because she keeps releasing good music. I’m just a new fan of Taylor Swift and I’m enjoying the suspense for the upcoming re-recordings. We all like different music. She may not be your cup of tea but thousands of people all over the world stream her music everyday.Ā

It's quite funny that she has released THREE albums in the past 12 months and has 42 million monthly listenersĀ on Spotify, while Gaga released ONE album that she hasn't promoted since last year and has 40 million monthly listeners. And people say Taylor is soooo good in streaming.Ā

People don't give Gaga enough credit.Ā

Yeah but all you hear is "Ariana, Dua and Taylor are the queens of streaming" etc. etc. Gaga is just as good nowadays.Ā

Obviously she is, we are all streaming her. I don’t really care for streaming numbers so I’m not the best person to quote on this subject.Ā

Taylor is literally everywhere. How are people not bored of this girl and her ā€œanticsā€Ā yet? I honestly don’t get the hoopla over her music at all. If this was Gaga, people would be dragging her to dirt and cancelling her like no tomorrow a la Born This Way era. I don’t get it.Ā

I could say the same about you, but I don’t care enough about your tasteĀ to try to make immature and pointless posts.Ā

She is re-recording it because she was f*cked over by her former label and scooter šŸ›“ Her fans are happy to experience the new music. I’m not buying the music but I am streaming it and I am enjoying it. It’s more than just a ā€œexpensive tantrumā€. Say you are a painter and you agree to have 6Ā paintingsĀ in a gallery but the gallery sells them without even consulting you and somebody will profit from your work. What do you do? The new owner doesn’t sell it to you. You try to recreate the paintings. That’s exactly what Taylor Swift is doing. I am happy to be xperiencing this stage in her career. I absolutely loved listening to Fearless (Taylor’s Version) for the first time (and overall for the album)Ā

I know the situation, and I know people love it. I mentioned it’s success.Ā Didn’t need a breakdown. Especially from you.Ā :huntyga:Ā  After yesterday I don’t care to have you respond to my posts to defend someone.Ā

True. I’m sure the newer version sounds much better being recorded all these years later. That was just my perception of the scenario. I don’t have any ill will against Taylor. She’s making big dollars with this plan.Ā

She was 22 in 2012 and didn’t understand enough about politics to say anything. In an interview in 2015 or 2016 she said one of her gay friends asked her how she would feel if her child was gay. She said that she was shocked somebody would ask her that because she knew she obviously would support them. That’s when she said she decided to be more vocal about her opinions and make sure she was informed enough to speak on them. She realized that by being silent it meant others would fill in the blanks in what she said. I’m not saying she was right for taking long to speak up- but you can’t expect a 22 year old to understand how to use her fame to make political change and affect. But she learned from it and grew from it like she has done over and over in her career and that’s why so many of us learned to love her. She never gets bitter- she gets better.

Gaga was 22 when she brokeĀ on the scene and came out fighting for the LGBTQ+Ā having her own form of comfortable, sex positive, rockstar feminism. Not to mention she was at the beginning of her career and Taylor waiting till she was FIVE albums in to really start speaking on politics, ā€œcoincidentallyā€ at the same time as the general public basically began ā€œcancellingā€ celebrities who didn’t profess themselves as a liberal....

Don't be bitter that she's winning. The public doesn't try to destroy a successful woman for once and yall lose your shit. It's bollocks luv
