Not that they deserve but that they don’t need it because it’s expected that their husbands will have their own inheritance for them. And that concept of women getting anything came with Islam. I explained the man can marry more women part.

I do see wrong in that therefore I said I don’t agree with everything written there.

SO by that logic, women need to depend on their husbands (single women and lesbians get nothing I guess?), which goes back to misogyny and dependence on a male figure. Again, another dead end.

@alsemanche also I’d like to add that this is giving more rights to women because women is not supposed to share her inheritance with anyone but a man is supposed to share his with his wife and his children. Also written in Qur’an.

Not exactly. Like I said they get the inheritance to themselves while the man has to share his. A woman can live by her own inheritance and never marry if she chooses to.

While I totally agree. "meanwhile in the middle east anyone can walk up and behead a gay man and be called a hero" is a complete exaggeration for anything besides the most underdeveloped Muslim-majority countries.

I can't speak for other countries but Kuwait, the UAE, Lebanon (sort of), and Oman have very much openly gay individuals and the authorities have done nothing.

Mashrou Leila is a Lebanese band (very popular) and they have an openly gay lead singer. If you want to tell which Middle Eastern countries are homophobic looks at the countries that banned them from touring (Egypt and Jordan, and maybe Saudi Arabia). But in the UAE and Kuwait they still sell out tickets.

But ultimately I agree and the problem with both extreme opponents and supporters of Muslims is that they tend not to even be from a Muslim-majority country 🙃

I'm also all for political correctness, I feel like it sometimes hides the ugly truths for the sake of being PC. I've been told off for being "islamophobic" despite BEING raised Muslim and lived it.
