Tbh this is a quite interesting  take which makes me think how could societies move on from the idea “Religion enables bigotry” ? Is it by limiting religion and religious people? 

In China, religion is kinda banned (even though it is officially not). As a result there are concentration camps 

I really agree with you on the idea that even peaceful religious people enable these bigoted beliefs. However, I do believe oppressing all religious  people would only cause more extremism
 

I hope one day we find a middle ground

this is so heartbreaking and this is what happens when people take religion from old times and take a more literal take on every aspect of the religion but in modern times. IT IS JUST PLAIN WRONG. Religion must adapt and Islamic societies must liberate themselves as well. I 100% understand that religion will always somehow play a part in society especially conservative ones but it needs to not be the end all be all...otherwise stuff like this happens and it is heartbreaking. Even in the US trans women get killed all the time by family members and lovers because of deep rooted homophobia in part because of religion. I'm not against religion, in fact I am a convert to Islam myself but there needs to be an enlightenement period that occurs in Middle Eastern cultures in order to apply a more light hearted version of the faith. It needs to happen. This is getting out of hand..we are in 2021 now...no more excuses for this level of brutality and cruelty.

Being religious is a choice, therefore I don't think it should end up under the discrimination spectrum

It's only discrimination if a specific one is targeted, like it's the case in China

Imo there's a very simple straightforward way of settling this issue and it's looking at the religious text. Does it include immoral things? From a strictly technical point, does it incite people to do things that go against the law? (ex : ****ing murdering people like the Bible and Qu'ran encourage)

If so, it's a hate group and should be treated as such. And its members should be treated like members of a hate group as well.

There are a few religions who don't cause problems and those would remain untouched that way (Buddhism is unproblematic AFAIK, and so are native spiritualities)

I agree with your narrative until this point... Even though Buddhism doesn’t incite hate there are hateful violent groups in Burma. 

Scripture itself should be revised but also changes within societies should are necessary . The influence of religious leaders should be limited

Groups like these are the true evil today. If you made a truly realistic superhero movie, the enemy wouldn't be some abstract alien, it would be religious people like them. These are real humans killing their literal family. Religion is the worst thing to ever happen to mankind.

Depends where you are and how political your post is, tbh. 
 

I know some people who post gay stuff all the time and nothing happened to them. However, I know someone who arrested because he insulted an MP so they framed it as he was an “Anarchist”

For example, when Sarah Higazi (Egyptian LGBTQ activist) committed suicide a lot of people (including allies) shared their opinions without consequences unless they went too political or tried to start movement.
