Following this thread is a fascinating cultural observation.

In Vietnam, people HATE the police, but even then there's NO on the spot execution and fatalities occur only during gang shootouts or swat tactical drug bust. 

No one gets killed by the police for threatening to stab sb. 

It's fascinating to see how desensitized Americans are to gun violence that they think this is justifiable.

Half the posts in this thread are users taking a break from the conversation they are having to insult the person they are having a conversation with.

Although this incident is not as clear cut as George Floyd's murder, it's still tragic. If the events are relayed honestly, hopefully it can serve to inspire necessary conversations. Even if those conversations can't happen here.

Yes it’s so painfully obvious when I & countless other people in this thread have been openly against cops & defended the people who’ve died. It couldn’t at all be because the video shows the girl fighting & trying to STAB someone, right? Because everyone who disagrees with you must be racist & MUST support cops, huh? Grow tf up.

Early reports said she called the police herself because some girls were coming after her, and she had a knife for self defense. Clearly we won’t know the full story for awhile.

Any time I discuss cops race is automatically part of the conversation because it’s a necessary reality. The fact that you’re trying to invalidate the issues of race in this situation speak more to you than anyone else. Maybe next time don’t try to erase the very real struggles of POC & the painfully obvious layers to a situation like this. Nasty.

I feel like at this point this clown is beyond reasoning. Throwing around labels when everyone is giving reasons why KILLING someone just for having criminal intent by the hands of someone who's supposed to have training for situations like this is wrong.
