Yeah, it's cool to think the last living T-Rex is closer to us on a chronological scale (66 million years) than it is to the first dinosaurs (230 million years ago, 164 million year gap). That's how stupidly long dinosaurs ruled Earth

We already have tamed dinosaurs

Most raptors are thought to have had comparable intelligence to their closest living relatives (birds/"avian dinosaurs") so I assume it'd be like trying to tame an ostrich with a crocodile's mouth and lion's claws

Jurassic World (I think that's the right movie) wasn't far off on having tamed raptors

Of course, for us to evolve in the first place the dinos had to die. Otherwise all the ecological niches would have stayed full and mammals would have never gone past the "rodent scurrying around dinosaurs' feet" stage.
