Excluding C2C and ASIB... what's your favourite opening track on a Gaga album?

For me, it's Alice.

The 'My name isn't Alice' just shook me like never before :bradley:

Note: this isn't a poll asking for your favourite track. It's about the track you enjoy most as an album opener, specifically. Example: if you're like me, you might prefer Bad Romance to Alice, but think that Alice works better as an opener.

Aura was different. I think it was a shook and thats why it was different.

That's very true. It definitely set the tone of the album.

For me, my ranking would be:

1) Alice

2) Marry The Night

3) Aura

4) Bad Romance

5) Just Dance

6) Diamond Heart

It's interesting because each track, maybe aside from DH, have extremely distinctive openings. I love that.

(DH is great and it's a great opening for Joanne... but it's not as instantly 'recognisable' as the others)

A Very Gaga Holida

I think Just Dance, Bad Romance and Diamond Heart are mediocre as openers, but Marry The Night, Aura and Alice are great.

I would say Marry The Night is the best though. You can tell it's not a last minute addition and that it cemented the sound of the album in a way. And it's the only one that has an explosive outro.

For me, Aura is the perfect wild and crazy start ARTPOP needed. I think Bad Romance is a great opener aswell, but would be even better as a closer (imagine Dance In The Dark opening TFM and Bad Romance closing) :mark:

It depends on how you read the question, if it’s best song that happens to open an album, it’s BR for me, but if it’s best way to open a piece of work and set the atmosphere, it’s Chromatica I + Alice or maybe Aura

Yeah, the poll is for the latter :D

I agree - Bad Romance is probably the best track on the list, but Alice is better as an opener in the context of Chromatica and opening an album.

Chromatica I + Alice hands down. :firega:

Marry the Night is such a great song, but for some reason I'm very lukewarm at it being the opening song. I don't think it flows very well into Born This Way. It actually feels like an album ender for me.

Love the opening lines on Diamond Heart, so maybe that would be my 2nd choice.

1 - Chromatica I + Alice
2 - Diamond Heart
3 - Aura
4 - Bad Romance
5 - Marry The Night
6 - Just Dance

If i had to choose it would be marry the night, it set the tone for entire btw album. Not just about the sound, the entire experience
However each opener served its purpose imo so it's hard to choose just one, HER MIND

You're right. Every opener is pretty great, and it's interesting that all six of them are 1) highlights of their respective album, and 2) would probably all appear high up in all-time favourite lists.
