But regardless of their motives for doing this i question how early ppl should go thru these procedures anyway. Arent both sexuality and sense of identity as well known to change a lot in many ppl during and before puperty?

I understand the concern that "teens don't really know what they want".

However, things such as sexuality and gender identity have biological roots, and many people know it from an early age. Although I didn't know it was something different from the "normal", I knew I was gay since as early as I can remember. That's since I was 3-4 years-old! Many people only think about this and realize it later in life (teenage and early adulthood), but most realize it very early, and shouldn't be denied healthcare.

It's never "just a phase", mom.

I agree with limiting any kind of cosmetic surgery (such as genital and breast surgeries) to people over 18 years old. But that would go for facial or any other kind of cosmetic surgery as well. I see girls doing rhinoplasty and breast implants at 16 without limitation from the government as long as their parents agree, so I really think this specific ban isn't worried about the child's health or "indecision", and is just plain transphobic.

Puberty blockers:

1) Have no known negative effects when used for 5 years (and more data is rolling in as we speak)

2) Are literally live saving medications

This bill would’ve killed transgender people, that’s not an exaggeration. Yes it’s *that* terrible.

“They are too young” kills trans people. “They should wait” kills trans people. “They might change their mind” kills trans people. These are common misconceptions that prevent people who would be allies from supporting transgender people. Forcing trans people to go through puberty when they have other options is cruelty for cruelties sake.
