London Anti Lockdown Protests

“Anti-Covid lockdown protesters have clashed with police in central London, injuring "several", throwing bottles, cans as they were urged to go home.

Earlier in the day, thousands marched through the streets of the capital carrying placards with slogans such as "Fear Westmonster not the virus" and "Stop destroying our kids' lives", while others argued the restrictions designed to reduce transmission of the deadly disease are anti-free speech.

The Metropolitan Police said 36 people had been arrested, the majority for breaching coronavirus restrictions.

While most demonstrators dispersed after the march finished, around 100 returned to Hyde Park where they threw bottles and cans at police, forcing them to retreat to their van”

well.... the whole point of “freedom of assembly” is no exceptions. If we start allowing exceptions, then “oh yeah BLM protest is too dangerous. national emergency!” will shutdown any protest ever

Some people just can't stand it anymore. Not that I fully approve this since it is dangerous to gather like that but lockdown again is too much for mental health, we can not do this forever and the virus doesn't seem to go anywhere in near future. I am afraid that vaccines won't be strong enough to stop it.

I can agree. The best protocol so far has been places like New Jersey, where they have allowed to resume a well regulated amount of activity, so people don’t go crazy.

Masks aren’t that hard to wear. But full lockdowns are way too far. Keep things restricted, 50% capacity, and just keep pumping out the vaccine.

At a certain point, mental health is just as important.

Meanwhile at Germanys anti-mask/anti-lockdown/anti-vaccine protests :saladga::

I honestly feel sick to my stomach. Instead of stopping the illegal, un-masked mob of 20000 people the police decides to attack the 20, peaceful counter-protesters and take pictures with those !diots.

And someone tells me that police brutality is only a US problem 🤮

(btw @President Biden there were protests all over Europe today, not only London)

They just want to be angry at this point. Its like the people protesting against the “mandatory vaccines” :poot: Like gurl, nobody is forcing you to get the vaccine :poot:

I swear those people don’t deserve rights. I’m sick of ignorants at this point. I get that some Lockdown mesures might be too strong or confusing (all over europe) but I have no respect for people protesting against masks, the vaccines or fuhing bill gates :rip:

Exactly.

In my country they closed everything but groceries and pharmacies for a week. I mean I get it if you want to close gyms, restarurants and places people gather at, but a bookstore? Or a department store? There is already a limited number of people that can get inside.

That's the logic I can't quite grasp. Can't you just limit it?
