MadreMonster 2,584
So are we getting another stimulus check or just in addition to the $600?

JRCF29 8,230
The Senate Saturday afternoon voted 50-49 to pass the $1.9T COVID-19 relief bill, termed the "American Rescue Plan," sending the bill back to the House with a few changes. It is unclear exactly when the House will take up the bill, but it is expected to be voted on in short order. The vote came after a marathon session that began Thursday morning with a vote to begin consideration of the bill, carried into the early hours of Friday morning after Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) forced the entire 600+-page bill to be read allowed on the floor. Over a dozen votes on amendments relating to funding for abortions (attempts to apply the Hyde amendment to the bill failed), the reversing the halting of the KeystoneXL Pipeline (amendment failed,) unemployment benefits (after hours-long negotiating episode, adopted) and even a substitute amendment which would have slashed the bill's price tag to under $1T followed (failed), before a final vote on passage at around noon on Saturday. Vice President Kamala Harris, a Democrat, did not need to cast a tie-breaking vote, as Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) was not present in D.C.: he had returned home to attend a funeral service, per The Hill. Don't Call Me Gaga

Fresco 1,688
Now the House has to pass this exact version. Then Biden can sign it. Finally. Already March and Biden still doesn't have a full cabinet confirmed by Senate.
Lion Heart 15,041
They were up all night entertaining bs from Republicans seeking to add a whole bunch of amendments, from "stopping" undocumented people from getting checks (they cant) to voting on an amendment to prevent trans athletes from competing in women's sports. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
Gagaloo911 12,959
Democrats are still spineless cowards and deserve no praise here after breaking their campaign promise and failing to deliver on raising the minimum wage which will now NOT happen probably for years. Gagaloo911 12,959
A "victory" after agreeing to even more means testing which only exacerbates inequality and division, decreasing the unemployment benefits from the $400, only $1,400 stimulus checks instead of $2,000 like was promised (NOT $1,400 + $600 that happened before the promise), and failing to deliver on the $15 minimum wage. Sure Jan, such a great victory.
