Literal lives come before livelihoods

This is such a horrible position to take :saladga: I will never understand how someone can say "I'm sorry you're homeless but at least the virus is under control :vegas:

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

And I'll never understand people who say "sorry about your grandma being dead but at least the bartender made his rent while I got to throw back some drinks with the other gays in the club :vegas:"

It's best we don't quote each other anymore because I'm really not having this right now.

Yes, good idea. This is a moral debate and neither of us will ever fall on the same page. Cheers

And I do apologize for getting nasty. Ask anyone, I'm usually much more civil, but I've had a lot on my plate lately and I'm lowkey spiraling atm :smh:

But, as a mod, I can and should do better. I'm sorry.

Don’t worry. We feel you. It’s been such a rough time for all of us. I really hope more people get their vaccine soon so things get back to “normal” in the summer.
thank you for sharing your opinion. Sending you hugs from NYC

You are totally justified! I was spiraling at the beginning of the year myself, so I can relate. I enjoy a tense back and forth with someone passionate about a topic. It's certainly more fulfilling than arguing about chart positions and stan wars :kara:

I think the biggest thing people against ending lockdowns fail to see is that there is no “when the pandemic is over.”

If you think you’re going to stay inside until covid goes away entirely, that’s just not going to happen.

Like it or not, covid and it’s variants are going to be a new part of the human experience that we just have to accommodate for at this point. It will be a cyclical thing like a cold or flu. That’s not to say we just give up, but that you’ll probably need take certain personal precautions in order to resume as normal of a life as possible. Things will have to reopen eventually and waiting until “its over” isn’t feasible. This is why experts have been focused on SLOWING the spread since last spring. Not eliminating, just slowing.

I wish people stopped simplifying the desire some have to getting back to their normal lives within restrictions to simply getting to go to gay bars and clubs. There’s far more things that are important to people than bars and clubs.
