I was spiraling at the beginning of the year myself, so I can relate. I enjoy a tense back and forth with someone passionate about a topic. alecks 751 Posted March 7, 2021 Share Posted March 7, 2021 I think the biggest thing people against ending lockdowns fail to see is that there is no “when the pandemic is over.” If you think you’re going to stay inside until covid goes away entirely, that’s just not going to happen. Like it or not, covid and it’s variants are going to be a new part of the human experience that we just have to accommodate for at this point. It will be a cyclical thing like a cold or flu. That’s not to say we just give up, but that you’ll probably need take certain personal precautions in order to resume as normal of a life as possible. Things will have to reopen eventually and waiting until “its over” isn’t feasible. This is why experts have been focused on SLOWING the spread since last spring. Not eliminating, just slowing.
