I am from California, and I grew up in a latino household, I spoke spanish the majority of the time at home growing up and followed a lot of Mexican and Catholic traditions as is part of our Mexican culture and tradition for example, and I wasn’t born in Mexico??? So how do you get to discredit where she comes from like that. You don’t know her background or upbringing.

At the end of the day, That’s all we could do, assume things. “Latino” is not a race, it’s a mix of lots of things, including cultural heritage (language, tradition, food) but also first hand experience of living in the region where the term comes from. She barely touched her parents home country. That’s why I said she’s barely an accurate representation of what latinidad actually means.

You literally just explained yourself why your logic is flawed. I rest my case. I never said Latino was a race, I literally said it was your culture and background and how your upbringing/heritage influences you.
