They vowed to not like this majority go to waste, and they're keeping that promise. I know many were worried about Biden's talk of unity being a wall to real progress, but Biden and senior dems have made it clear: If Republicans don't want to be a part of real heal and progress, as they've just shown, then they won't waste their breathe trying to get bipartisan support. Lowering it to $1400 is stupid and unnecessary, but it doesn’t make him the ****ing devil. It does set up democrats to look like slithering liars though. Biden hasn’t issued any drone strikes, and he’s absolutely taking meaningful action for the pandemic. Where did he deprive the poor of healthcare? It sounds like you are woefully ignorant to what is ACTUALLY going on right now. He’s been president for all of two weeks, and has already made massive change to repair the US from the garbage bin of a human that was Donald Trump. It doesn’t sound like you are a socialist at all, it sounds like you are simply bitter, and that’s not a good look. If you want to know what Biden has done in the two weeks of being president, actually read the executive orders he’s signed. The reasoning does not change the fact that optically, it looks like they’re breaking their promise. Btw, they were selling it up until the Georgia run-offs. That’s long after the $600 checks were approved. I got my deposit literally the early morning of January 1st. And it’s not like they absolutely cannot do the $2000. Dems in GA ran and WON because they promised $2,000 checks. And already they've gone back on that promise. $1,400 now because a meager $600 that already passed and is helping no one cover their MONTHS of being unemployed and not being able to afford their rent and bills is NOT what they promised, and is pathetic. You said he wasn't playing games with Republicans on the same day he went to negotiate with the Republicans. The Biden press secretary said today that they are looking into means-testing the pathetic $1400 one-time payment, which is something Republicans were requesting. $1400 is not "pretty good." People are out of work for a year and you think a $1400 one-time payment is "pretty good." What planet do you live on? That was Donald Trump's $600 and Biden doesn't get to pretend he had anything to do with it. Biden promised $2000 and now it's down to $1400 at best. That's what we call a lie.
