The Georgia teen who was jailed on the Cayman Islands for breaking a mandatory COVID-19 quarantine has been released after 32 days.

Skylar Mack, 18, who is enrolled as a pre-med student at Mercer University in Macon, had traveled to the Cayman Islands on November 27 and was required by the government to quarantine for 14 days.
After arriving to Cayman Islands she signed a document that forbade her from removing her wristband and leaving her residence during the 14-day period.
Two days later she removed her geofencing bracelet and left her residence to watch her boyfriend compete at the crowded Jet Ski event with no mask.

She and her boyfriend ended up behind bars for violating the island's strict coronavirus guidelines.
They both were sentenced to four months in prison, which was halved in late December to two months. They ultimately served 32 days behind bars.

Mack's family had repeatedly made public pleas for mercy and even sent a lette to President Donald Trump pleading for help in her case.

Skylar is not allowed back on the island as long as the borders remain closed under COVID-19 restrictions.

Should have remained there the entire time.

But maybe 32 days will show her that actions have consequences.

And pre-med? Yikes.

This is why so many doctors and nurses are absolute trash in the US when it comes to racism.

lol @ you guys thinking that just because she is a pre-med student she is responsible, I need to show you guys my former classmates  to break the illusion that all doctors are reasonable and  respect COVID guidelines :billie:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I think it's common knowledge that the medical field attracts two types of people only: literal angels walking on earth and sociopathic, egotistic, racist hellfire people.

During her time in prison her family made repeated pleas for help, noting how Mack was terrified being so far from her family.

‘The stress, scared, she’s scared to death over there,' her mother Rebecca Burt previously said to Channel 2.

'She’s by herself; there’s not family there whatsoever to speak of,' she added.
