In Los Angeles County, 10 people on average test positive for the coronavirus every minute. Every six minutes, someone dies from Covid-19, according to county public health data.

The startling figures come as California’s most populous county rapidly approaches 1 million confirmed coronavirus cases since the pandemic started last year.

According to county public health officials, more than 958,400 people in L.A. have been infected with the virus and nearly 13,000 people have died as of Wednesday. The numbers are equally sobering across the state. California has nearly 2.8 million confirmed coronavirus cases and more than 31,000 deaths as of Wednesday, according to NBC News counts. A more contagious variant of the virus has also been detected in the region.

guys im kinda stressed as **** rn. my boyfriend is from la and he had to go back for the holidays. (he’s been gone for just under two months)  He gets back to my city this coming Tuesday and I just keep thinking he’ll bring it back. I’m sure I’ll be fine but he’s staying with me + my family. My mom is immune compromised and works at a retirement home. Thankfully She got her first vaccine the first of January. however, she gets her second shot two days after he gets back, and then she’ll be fine about a week or two after that. He tells me he’s been safe but still he could have it and be totally unaware. hoping thing work out :vegas:

Is there a way he can quarantine and not come in contact with people until he can at least get a test?

The situation in LA is crazy. And they've been on lockdown. The only reason the rest of the country isn't following is because most places don't have the population like LA.

He’s not seeing anyone but he does live with his parents. Unfortunately they are homophobic and don’t know about me/my situation. He’s getting tested when he gets here and I think we’re just gonna wear masks in the living room/kitchen.

So glad you're okay, my fellow Angelino. I got it too this past December but had no symptoms. Thank god. It's like playing roulette. My best friend is a doctor here in LA and she won't even talk about the sh** she's seen. Like, it's off the table for discussion. And she tells me everything.

Either try to find a hotel room for him to quarantine for a while when he arrives or keep him quarantined in 1 room of your house and don't lwt him get in contact with anyone at all for a while. You'll have to sanitize everything and whatnot but it's safer than risking your family's health and it's only temporary. Good luck!
