Not 3D animation NOOOO :toofunny:  half the charm of their movies is the stunningly beautiful traditional animation

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

It looks beautiful (once I got over the initial 3D shock) but I could not watch the english version due to the mouths having zero correlation to the audio lmao so frustrating

looks good though! so many references lol

Eeew! I can't believe they used 3D animation. Eew!! Ghibli's style is such a staple.

I am authistic, so don't be offended if I make a mess sometimes.

What compelled them to do it in this style? It loses all its charm :toofunny:

I'm still gonna watch it and stan tf out of it :huntyga:

The animation has put me right off just doesn't seem right for a Studio Ghibli film but I'm sure it will be good.

Well... Either keep the original animation style you have or don't... But don't mix it with 3D style :sharon::sharon: it looks like a 2000 3D movie

And it is not fluid at all.

They might have done it like a frame by frame movie :bradley: compare it to Over the Moon and it's over

Yikes the animation makes it difficult to get into. Besides the chuncky pixar fail i got hyped by the story and its vigor. I for one look forward to a new chapter for ghibli studio.

Guys whether you like it or not, 2D animation (on a big budget at least) is dead. Film studios have to evolve if they want to keep existing. It's fine if you like Ghibli's hand-drawn style, but the studio won't survive for much longer if it sticks to it indefinitely.

Western Animation - yes, but the conventional 2D anime (Japanese animation) is still popular.

OT: This looks like your average salary 3D Pixar animation :toofunny: I hope it’s just a side project and they will still produce anime projects.

I mean, not to poke a hole in your well-intentioned point, but if they don’t like the work anyway I don’t think they’ll care much if those movies continue to come out or not :laughga:
