Where does she find the time to re-record over 50/100 songs and record Folklore and Evermore?

She's in quarantine and she's rich lol

I can’t imagine she’d want to. The originals captured her voice and emotion at the very time they were created, they represent those moments in her life. They’re special to her and us. But I can see why she wants to replace the old versions in her playlists. Obviously she wants really good streaming numbers for the new recordings.

Yes but it's not like deleting them from Spotify would delete them everywhere :rip: I imagine she has a personal archive of recordings (both released and unreleased) so she can check there if she wants to listen.

I am 100% not a fan of her music, but I just have to admire her hardwork in re-recording her first six albums and releasing two full albums during a pandemic. My fave could never..

Keep in mind our gal has 2 film roles to prepare for, but yes she could’ve done some more promo for Chromatica ofcourse

I don't understand this whole thing though tbh. Wouldn't it take months and months and months of studio time to perfectly re-create 6 albums of work from scratch? Costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Or does she just have to re-record the vocals? Seems like an impossibly huge amount of work for little pay off that I couldn't see her label supporting   unless she's paying for the studio sessions with her own money...

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

She's been locked in her house since March and she has nothing more to do. folklore and evermore are outstanding albums but the production for those songs takes zero time. We had a glimpse of Love Story re-recorded and it was pretty much the same, but still, little pay off? Just the fact the money from all those tracks will finally be for Taylor and her current label explains, but I also can very much see every album hitting no. 1 again in the Billboard 200, Red and 1989 specifically being at no. 1 for several weeks

I am SO excited for this after I heard a clip of re-recorded Love Story which sounded SO good and so much like the original. It will get my streams!

Imagine if Gaga would do the same thing Taylor is doing..  Re-Recording all of her albums in a few years. Could be interesting.

Why would she? Taylor's situation is completely different. Gaga doesn't need to re-record her albums.

She would get a lot of money back if she releases the re-recordings on CD and Vinyl. And she already posted a snippet of Love Story re-recorded and it sounds very similar. I bet she and her band can do album 1 - 4 in sleep already. I'm not sure if 1989 has to be made from scratch or if Taylor or Jack have all stems from the songs and change them a little bit.

also, just to add another reason (besides the ones mentioned above), it's not just, or, i should say, not really, about money: it's about her artistic integrity, setting a precedent, and altering the future of the music industry, one re-recorded song at a time, if you will :flower:
