DNA and RNA are completely different. RNA is a temporary thing, just an instruction that tells your cell to make a specific type of protein. This vaccine doesn’t alter your DNA.

I really wouldn't worry about that too much, I mean we are all at 0% immune right now in the UK and out of 70 million people, 60k have died from it, make that 95% immune and the chance of getting it nevermind dying from it are reduced so much that normal life can begin again, and while there will still be cases, like any disease (apart from smallpox) it won't be anything like we have had this year.

Depends. There's a reason some ppl are asymptomatic. U don't have to have a reaction everytime u get a new virus or bacteria in you even if you had never been exposed to it before. If that was the case we'd spend half of our lives sick all the time

 

When ur body can successfully fight off a foreign infection before it multiples to a certain threshold u don't end up getting symptoms. In fact most of the time your immune system is constantly working fighting off things without u feeling sick

 

That's why eating healthy and exercise and resting helps u reduce the chances of "catching a cold" or "catching a flu". Those things don't literally prevent u from getting infected if someone sneezes or breathes on you. You would still be exposed to it just the same. But by keeping your immune system strong you increase the odds that you will manage to fight something off without needing to get symptoms and you could be exposed to colds or flus some winters and never even know it!

 

In the case of this vaccine it stimulates your immunity cells to basically get partial immunity by exposing them to RNA (I think that's what it was I'm not sure) from the virus. So you can still get infected but by your immune system responding faster to it it decreases your chances of getting the virus to multiply enough to actually get you feeling sick. However it appears it doesn't get u to fight it off fast enough or efficiently enough to prevent u from still spreading it as you still develop some viral load and so it's a partial immunity not full immunity this vaccine gives

Later in the day I saw he had the same big stack that I saw earlier. Guess he's the only one who doesn't want the vaccine around here.

It is useful. It essentially makes most ppl become asymptomatic and the few who will still get symptoms will get it way more mildly

 

So it won't generally be any more harmful than a small cold and won't be killing a bunch of ppl

 

It's not the perfect full immunity vaccine many were hoping for but it will still essentially stop hospitalizations and severe cases and deaths

 

It will allow life to return to normal

It stops a demographic who would otherwise likely be very ill, hospitalised and/or die from experiencing as severe symptoms, if any. Sounds useful to me.

But that leads me to ask, why the push for everyone else to get it if it doesn't stop the spread - young healthy people who would likely be asymptomatic or have mild symptoms? Perhaps because of the small number who would get very ill from it?

7 days or so. Its not useless, you just have to be aware that its not a ticket to be complacent about things or that you have 100% immunity... the Pfizer vaccine is the best one atm but you need both jags for it to be effective

It's hardly bullshit lol. The pandemic only started a year ago what do you expect? It's the best we have, vaccines usually take years to come out. Yes, it doesn't stop you from spreading it so it's not a miracle cure, but it will save lives and enable people to get back to normal. If enough people are vaccinated then we can start to live life again. You don't need to eradicate the virus, you need to bring it down to a level where millions are not dying from it anymore. We still get the flu and people still die from the flu, there is a flu vaccine, but it's effective enough that the numbers aren't pandemic level...
