This vaccine works by attacking the protein of the virus rather than a typical multi-strain vaccine that we have for the flu. Its only 60% effective after the first jab, then the 2nd one takes you up to the 90-95%. And like you said, it doesn't stop you from getting it. But what this vaccine does it makes the symptoms a lot less severe so covid 19 becomes manageable. They don't know if it stops the spread of the virus though... My worry is that too many people will think this virus is the golden answer and will become complacent. They'll get the first jab and think they are 100% immune, and then possibly go out and spread the virus or catch it themselves.
