papergangstas 1,364
..will be the first era in where Gaga released only 2 singles (if she doesn't release more in the future, but I highly doubt it.) 2 singles out of an album containing 13 flawless disco dance-pop songs One of me is wiser. One of me is stronger. One of me is a fighter, and there's a thousand faces of me, Army of me

yes and 4,884
Not exactly. 911 was a single in Italy, so there are 3 singles for someone. And we had only two worldwide singles from Joanne, and only one from ASIB for US. Did you think I'd show up in a limousine? No
Nemanja 595
ASIB 1 single
Sneaky Oliver 21,640
Well... it's been like that ever since ARTPOP. Applause and DWUW were the only two "main" singles with Dope and Venus being only promo singles (and GUY kind of replacing DWUW if you wanna count that on). Joanne had Perfect Illusion and Million Reasons. AYO was also promo single and John Wayne, even though it had visuals, it wasn't officialy released as a single. Chromatica had Stupid Love and Rain On Me. 911 had a similar situation to John Wayne. It wasn't officialy released as a single.
Bradley 58,219
Whether or not a song is labelled single is not important in 2020. Songs which are not singles get music video and performance treatment all the time. This isn't 2011 we're talking about. In 2011 when something was a single, it meant that it was sent to radio and was promoted heavily at talk shows, award ceremonies, etc. But singles nowadays really just mean it's gonna get a video. Bradley 58,219
People need to understand that this is not the result of laziness or indifference. It's a systemic issue, the algorithm has changed so that strategies also changed.
Guest
Sour Candy and 911 are singles in France and some European countries I think

Yep most singles post-album release don't really become huge hits because they have already peaked in the streaming services. Ofc there are exceptions. That's why artists tend to release remixes and featurings to have something fresh and get a new bunch of streams!
FfFfFfFF 54,455
911 is kind of single, in the same way Joanne Piano Version is. So Joanne and Chromatica had an equal number of singles.

Which also explains Katy’s droplet method over the past 1 1/2 years. She was hoping to get a smash hit based on the novelty of the track. I would say it works sometimes, but streaming still needs to carry the song. Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.
FfFfFfFF 54,455
I remember when the joke was that LG6 is going to be have 0 singles because BTW had 5 singles, ARTPOP had 3, Joanne 2 and ASIB 1.
MelbHawker 6,583
A 3rd single would’ve been a success only if it were a remix/collab or if the album was delayed / the 3rd single was released prior to it. Im just happy 911 received MV treatment.
Cherry Blues 349
I don't think so. Chromatica seems to be nominated for Grammys Album of the Year. I doubt that LG will not release more singles from the album. The meaning, theme, the personality of the record embedded in electronic pop sound is to unique to not develope it further from my perspective.
