Chromatica era theory

I must say I was a bit confused after the 911 video was released. Not because of the symbolism, the story and everything, but more the vibe of it.

The Chromatica era started very cyber punk, fantasy, scifi, pink, purple etc. Stupid Love and then ROM video's felt quite cohesive and in the same universe. Like the album artwork actually.

Then in 911 out of nowhere Gaga had turquoise hair, was in a churge. Now we know from the end of the video it was all in her head. So we were like yeah cromatica is in her head etc. But the 911 video (at least to me) seemed like a totally different Chromatica. No platformboots, no punk, warrior vibe. I felt a bit distinct from the former video's. Even if in the 911 video, it was all based on the movie she had seen in the video, then maybe she wasn't in Chromatica at all. The ''reality'' in the end wasn't that otherworldly either. So it wasn't in the same place as Stupid Love and ROM.

Then I thought the album has three acts. Chromatica 1, 2 and 3. Stupid Love and ROM are from the first act. 911 is from the second act. Maybe that explaines the switch. She was first in her Chromatica 1 era, and now she is in her Chromatica 2 era. If this is true, what more do you think will happen? Or is it already over and is she in her chromatica 3 era? If so what will that era look like?

That being said, outside of the 911 video her apearance was still in the same vibe as before the video. So maybe 911 video is just the odd one here. This is no hate towards the video btw. I'm just trying to make sense of it all. Maybe it makes ennough sense and I don't realise it, but it's just a thought.

It's probably not true, and not meant to be seen like this. But if it is, we know fore sure there won't be any video's for Alice, Free Woman and Fun Tonight....

We use the word era far too loosely nowadays, there isn’t 3 eras Chromatica, the video was just a dream. There’s no resuming or pausing an era, the Chromatica era started in February and it ends sometime next year.

I always thought of it like that. Not the music videos, u just opened my eyes.

But the album. The first act as Alice, is her/us entering Wonderland, in a drug-like realm (Which makes Free Woman a very sad song, since she isn't s free woman, she's just imagining she is).

The second act is about realization. The middle ground. The trip is finalizing. 911 is about drugs to help her mind. Plastic Doll would be Free Woman's antithesis or antonym. That would make Sour Candy a bitter rebellious attitude, as it is. Enigma is she trying to be tripping again and being in Wonderland but she fails at it. Having to relieve her reality, thus Replay.

And finally, Sine from above. In the second act it really rained on Gaga. Having one of the most intimate and sad song of Gaga's Discography (Replay). And so, this final act is she braving up. Dancing til the rains goes away. She's having hope. Thus 100 Doves, "lift me up, cuz I've been flying with broken arms".

 

And finalizing with Babylon. She is far away from Wonderland. Quite the contrary, she's in earth. She armed up and got to be brave in her skin. She is finally ok with herself and doesn't care about others opinion about her. Babylon is the climax of the album, metaphorically checking everything that was going wrong with her.

I thought if within this era there may be 3 mini era's like the acts on the album. Of course it's one era, so maybe mini era's aint the right word for it, maybe fase is better. It's just a thought, and probably not true.

But, she deffinitly paused and resumed this era 2 times, at least it felt like that. It was understandable why tho.

This...even the wannabe "bts" video clearly shows that it was more the directors vision and interpretation of the song and less hers...I think we all expected choreography like from the VMAs and not this art-deco "Judas-esque" video 

It was different but definitely made the era turn to left field as far as cohesiveness goes...

As for the state of the album era...idk...Gaga seems to be actively talking about everything BUT music so its all a choice and she intentionally isn't discussing the album rn...

Makes me sad but she also seems to have really checked out this album era and just wants a long break...

911 video really is very different from Stupid Love and Rain On Me.

Stupid Love video is like a plot where she explains that many tribes or ideas fight with each other in the Chromatica solar system, specifically on a planet within the Chromatica world. This planet seems to be a spiritual planet.

Rain On Me takes place on a planet in the Chromatica solar system where technology is dominating, especially in the urban areas.

911 portrays parallel worlds which are interconnecting with each other and because to some degree things are connected with each other anyway, the 911 scenarios could be connected to the Chromatica system too. I think 911 portrays our world and how past, presence and future affect each other and parallel world powers could also have a strong presence in the 911 scenario or in our world. She, i mean LG said that dreams and reality are communicating with each other. But different realities then also clearly communicate.

My theory is that 911 is the beginning of her "Chromatica trip". So in 911, she caused(?) this terrible accident due to medication (or the absence of it). Then at the end of the 911 video, Chromatica III starts playing. So maybe, she hears a Sine From Above and finds the place for her to heal - Chromatica. And this is where SL and ROM are chronological-wise.

There are so many questions about chromatica like this tribe thing,is it a planet where she’s now or it’s just an image in her head(cuz 911 clearly wasn’t on chromatica)
