Chromatica is still an okay era

First of all it’s my favorite album of hers because I genuinely love the music, it’s her great comeback to ‘Gaga’ and EDM, it’s her best album cover and the visuals are amazing plus I LOVE the looks this era!

But all of this aside ...

It’s an album about mental health, or more specifically about Gaga’s journey with mental health (processing trauma, depression and anxiety) from the last few years. It touches on sensitive subjects like psychotic breaks, anti-psychotics, PTSD and reaching out to people when you are mentally unwell. Plus it’s supposed to be a story and a place she made up to escape and simulate her darkest thoughts into art.

We’re in 2020: a hard ass year. We are in a pandemic, a coronavirus outbreak happened and people are staying home. People are having a hard time; both physically but also especially mentally. Don’t you think it’s great that Gaga decided to release Chromatica in a year like this, a record about mental health and its importance?
I’m obviously not trying to glamourize the pandemic but we have to accept the fact it happened and it will go down in history.

When Gaga released Stupid Love and suddenly a week after we were going on a lockdown and Gaga announced the album would be postponed, don’t you see how powerful it actually is that she still decided to go trough with releasing it? She could have just put the era on hold and waited until the pandemic was over and Focus’ed the song. But she didn’t. Because I think like she said she wanted to give us some normalcy, but I think she also realized that this album is exactly what we and the world needed; rates of depression and suicide are skyrocketing and I think people needed music about mental health and ‘dancing trough the pain’.
Chromatica has personally brought me so much comfort because I struggled with extreme anxiety this year. I’m sure a lot of people can relate.

Now, you may say: @LittleMonster20, that’s very sweet and all, but PROMO! WHERE IS IT? WE DON’T CARE ABOUT HAUS LABS (understandable) AND CHANNEL KINDNESS(a **** move)? NEW SINGLE!

I understand, but I want you guys to realize that Gaga is a PERFECTIONIST; the VMA performance was arguably one of her best but it took a while; same with 911 MV which is  now deemed her best video on here. I want you guys to understand just how much work these project she did serve this era costed on the first place, and then on top of that imagine the extra work they had to put in rehearsing and filming because of corona (sanitation, masks, distance and all these precautions). GAGA ISN’T SETTLING FOR LESS. Gaga is a world class artist with a HUGE budget. If anything I’m satisfied enough with what she’s given already, I don’t need tacky video’s of her dancing in her living room being ‘relatable’.

Sure, I want more video’s and promo just as much as the next Monster on here but I’m trying to be understating towards the situation. Plus, I’m sure we’ll get more. The tour is still possible so the era is far from over. Plus, IF the era was over already, Gaga would have given it a proper ending since this album is way too important for not only her but the fanbase and the world.

Bottomline: in the future when we think of 2020 and the coronavirus and we can say our fave Lady Gaga released an album about mental health in a traumatic year with so much misery, actively helping people by music and releasing a book and hosting things like One World and being open about struggles, we’ll remember this as iconic.

Releasing an album about mental health struggles in one of the roughest times of humanity.

Im sorry, but if she really wanted to, she would have given more performances and videos. Just look at singers like Miley and Dua, they keep releasing stuff and coronavirus is no excuse.

Chromatica might be a good album but its by far her worst era

Exactly. The way people here pretend like Gaga is in a league of her own and  a world class artist with a huge budget as if she isn’t given the same basic resources as girls doing more with less... it’s like y’all all forgot FameGa was mostly the efforts of a DIY Gaga

I think it is not fair to judge an era that just started this year, sorry :triggered: , anyways, I think that she is working on something big because I can't find another explanation :awkney:(ooor IDK personal issues? I'll wait for her no matter what :bye:)

Listen, these pandemic excuses were cute in April or whatever. Everyone adapted, she didn't. Point blank PERIOD. Or she didn't want to.

If someone told me years ago, that she'd be totally silent about her latest album for months and then make 5 posts about her makeup brand in a day, I wouldn't have belived.

Lets just peacefully take the L that this era is ѕhit and she doesn't give a rat's ass about it (or her music career - at least the vibe she gives off, I hope I'm wrong).

I was honestly starting to think it was self-explanatory but you guys DO realize that aside of the budget thing Gaga is still recovering and processing chronic pain and trauma everyday right?

She’s done plenty, plus what do you rather want: quality which takes time or half-assed performances and livestreams for the sake of an eventful era during a pandemic?

This era wasn’t ‘****’. She still served quality and she clearly still cares otherwise she wouldn’t have bothered with the 911 video and whatever she is planning now.

Good album /=/ good era

The quality of the album itself is out of this world, every track is extremely designed and fine tuned musically, vocally, and sonically. That makes the era look even worse in turn. A critically lauded album that showed her return to pop prominence (who would’ve thought in 2014-2016 that Gaga would put out a pop album with a top 5 lead and a #1?) and promised to have a huge run but was thwarted by a pandemic first, then a social justice movement, and then by lack of interest or care by her/ her team.

The album is awesome, the era sucks

This era had a total of 7 days activity, but if you enjoy that and it makes the era good in your books, you do you.

911 video served quality, yes.

Clearly cares? By completely abandoning it?

She is planning nothing now.

What does chronic pain have to do with any of this? If she has the time to film a Haus Labs advert every few weeks, she also has the time to film something for her album, or at least use twitter and interact. She also had chronic pain during joanne and she managed to honor the album. If she wants to ignore chromatica she's in her perfect right to do so, but don't blame it on her chronic pain because that has nothing to do with it. She has done a performance for biden, a performance for together at home, the vmas, and she's filming a movie in a few months. If chromatica is being ignored it's because she wants to ignore it.

Best album cover

Very strong MVs

Most cohesive album

Most pleasing aesthetic

Once again it falls into the “had potential to be a cultural collapse but she’s somehow only successful when she does yee haw stuff” with ARTPOP :bon:

1. maybe

2. 911 is her best but ROM is literally a green screen and SL... :ladyhaha:

3. Maybe but that's not necessarily a good thing

4. Ok but she didn't really execute the aesthetic all that much so... ARTPOP takes the crown.
