So I gave 2 reasons I could fathom with the following disclaimer: "I'll take a wild guess - take it as a hypothesis, I don't know how true it'd be (nor I am educated in this area)" I also have to challenge the statement that the current administration has been separating parents and children that are legal citizens, and treating them like animals in the detention centers. What matters the most is "Swing States" which is the name used for states that tend to swing between republican and democratic candidates (ie Florida, Michigan, Ohio....) unlike states that always vote for one party's candidate or the other (ie California - Democratic &&& Nebraska - Republican).
