This is not a military coup. This is a self coup. He is making moves to delegitimize a democratic election in a coup to stay in power. He is using the courts, whipping up his base, sowing mistrust in the system. He doesn't need the army. He has Trumpers who swarm cities, state buildings and attack people in over a piece of fabric; he has the evangelical right long waiting for their big power grab ready to coral every bible-thumping fanatic to secure "G@ds will" ; he has roving bands of domestic terrorists hopped up on Q, with miltary-grade assault weapons, willing to kill, intimidate and kidnap for him (many of them cops and soldiers already); on the inside, he has Senators and congressman and cabinet members and state officials who have suspiciously became complete doormats and enablers who have NEVER went against his despicable actions; the GOP has been packing the courts with GOP conservative "allies" for years for a moment like this. All 3 of his supreme court noms had direct involvement in the case that settled the Bush v Gore Florida recount fiasco. The GOP have been making chess moves for years for a moment like this. He doesn't need the military ( now anyway).

I'm not saying that Trump will use the military for a coup. I'm saying that Biden can—and frankly will, if he has to—use the military in order to get Trump out if he refuses to leave office even after he loses the election.

None of that is going to happen. Please stop. That is the epitome of Trump derangement syndrome.

Donald Trump stops being president on Inauguration day. After that, the Secret service answers to Biden. We won't need to ask the military to step in.

It's absurd that someone who loses the people's vote ends up becoming president in the first place.

Bernie did have this, and progressive economic policies are incredibly popular around the country passing even in red states and Florida where they passed the increase in minimum wage. If Democrats would just lean into this, they could actually have a decent shot of winning people over. Yet they continue to refuse to, and I believe this is because of their wealthy donors who don't want them to

Voters' choices make no sense.

Even among Republicans, a form of M4A (the type that keeps private insurance intact) enjoys majority support but they consistently vote for candidates that oppose even the ACA. It's absurd.

I wish voters would go back to voting who they agree with and stop caring it's there's an R, D, I, whatever next to their name.

That's not really fair, Trump literally tried to pick what states he "won" today. We're in uncharted territory & Trump is backed into a corner.

Maybe. It remains to be seen but I certainly hope that Biden can do that. And I disagree on that last point.

In parts of the country things like marijuana legalization were strongly popular and passed, and given Bernie Sanders really pushed this, coupled with his economic populism that has been proven after 2016, 2018, and now 2020 works, I strongly believe Bernie would have been in a stronger position than Biden by putting forth a strong, positive agenda as he was.

If you really think about it, neither Trump nor Biden had that. Had one of them had a strong, positive, economic populist agenda that actually gave Americans a vision for the future, they would have likely won in a landslide. But neither did, and it was razor thin.

Bernie did have this, and progressive economic policies are incredibly popular around the country passing even in red states and Florida where they passed the increase in minimum wage. I felt this way about Bernie last time and would have agreed 100% this time. But then George Floyd happened and the cities burned (rightfully so) but that sent independents and moderate democrats right back to the middle and made me believe we needed someone like Biden.

Does anyone know why so many postal ballots are blue?

Because Democrats were more likely to take Covid seriously and mail in their ballots. Republicans were more likely to vote same-day.

Voters like progressive legislation. They do not like progressive candidates. Idgi really.

But there is a huge difference between what Trump says and what he DOES.

He knew he was going to lose. He’s setting up for his next endeavor - to be run around and talk about how the election was stolen from him.

This election isn’t going to be decided by the Supreme Court. That’s PTSD from 2000 talking but that was also a different situation.
