He need to worry about going to jail. That is what ahead  of him now.

I would love that journey for us, but he'll never be convicted. No matter how corrupt he is.

isn't that what happened in 2008 though? Obama inherited crappy economy, turned it around (how well he did really depends on who you ask), and secured reelection

Yup! Fingers crossed that could happen again, but we've seen a lot of firsts since 2016 and boy am I scared.

Completely separate point from the one I was making, but yes I agree with you.

I'll be very glad if Biden wins and think it will be better for the country relative to Trump. That doesn't mean Biden will unite it or that partisanship will suddenly go away though.

No one thinks partisanship is going away. But even that buffoon W united the country over 9/11 and Covid is that moment for Biden.

Don’t get it twisted - I didn’t even want Biden - but right now he’s the hero we need. The Democrats couldn’t win with the others.

I don’t entirely disagree.

Trump four years ago and this thin margin now represents hate for the establishment.

That being said - The Biden win ends the Trump derangement syndrome. We cannot move forward as a country with that still happening on the left and the anti-Trump right.

The work is by no means over, but is is not bad news for democrats. It was never going to be a landslide and it’s also not as close and dire, it seems that way because so the way people voted (mail ins)

I wouldn't be too sure that a Biden win removes that. It's not like him or his supporters are going anywhere, and they already believe unfounded conspiracies so I wouldn't put it past Republicans to consider Biden as illegitimate and claim he stole it from Trump. This certainly would just continue the Trump derangement syndrome and I'm not sure what happens then.

And, well, it's not all bad news for Dems. They did take AZ, and could take GA. Plus they just barely got MI and WI back, and maybe PA. But I'd say it's mostly bad news for them as they lost ground among POC and Trump improved his standing in many places no one was expecting such as on the border of Mexico in Texas where it's 95% Hispanic. That's not good news any way you slice it for Democrats, especially as they continue to bleed support with white people.

Full of contradictions. They speak about fake news of the "media" but create conspiracies. They are "patriotic" yet hate a huge part of the population for their skin color and want to end democracy
