I highly doubt that. Gaga doesn’t seem like the type to blindly trust without doing her research. And y’all know she worked with Terry Richardson and R. Kelly during one of the darkest periods in her life as she was healing from and processing her PTSD from her rape, and she did that fully aware of the men’s reputation in the industry.

This is something with Gaga that I have had troubles with back during all of that with her partnering with T Richardson and then again, working with R. Kelly and that stuff with the vomiting paint artist during Swine, I had to step away from being such a fan, for a time back then, it was all triggering my own mental health with being a victim of sexual assault and abuse. I still loved her as an artist and person, but I just didn't get it with her and still don't. I mean, she doesn't have to speak for me and the way that we decide to be a fan or not of someone's work, who might be a terrible person, I can't lay that responsibility on her, to justify my own feelings and decisions, so I just let her speak for herself, same with all of this and Biden. I mean, she clearly didn't come out and publicly rally for him until the last minute, maybe his accusations are why and she just wants Trump out, like others have said here too. I know she is flat out against Trump and she has always been more a democrat since she's become famous, so it's not any surprise she'd back Biden, in the end. She may truly just secretly be backing Harris, moreso.

I do wonder though about T Richardson, R. Kelly and Biden, how she rationalizes that within herself, since she has spoken out even more since then about Rape and sung 'Til It Happens To You and even did that emotional video. I don't think I'd ever have the courage to ask her and could not do it emotionally either. Those times were hard for me, as a huge fan.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Some people cope with trauma by lashing out, and Gaga did that artistically (the song swine is a perfect example). A lot of artists make uncomfortable gross art like that but it is rare for a pop figure to do so.

Obviously it is up for debate what the net effect of that kind of art is and for some people it will simply always be in bad taste or something that they cannot personally connect with.

I understand why people criticize that phase of her career but I also understand why (some) people defend it. Listening to the lyrics of Do What U Want and the way she sang it live with such convictions, I can’t help but love the song... it seems so empowering when not tarnished by the context of R Kelly’s behaviour.

“You can’t have my heart and you won’t use my mind,” is a beautiful sentiment to me, as someone who went through dark times where I hated my body and felt worthless but also knew my inner creativity and my mind was special, so I let people do what they want with me. So there is a level of it that I do get, but I also get how people are hurt by it.

What I don’t understand is a certain level of hypocrisy and phoniness that she gives off... I want her to have more conviction but she truly does seem like a smiling plastic doll sometimes (this is my opinion, please do not attack me for this. I love and respect Gaga as an artist but I just have qualms about some of her viewpoints and behaviours that do not line up)

Yes, we all have our thoughts about others and make comments that may come off as harsh or critical, but there is honest truth in the saying that victims of trauma, abuse and especially rape, all handle their recovery differently, there is no easy and common road, so I do give Gaga some leg room with all of this stuff. I used to be able to completely switch my mind off to things that had happened to me, just like none of it ever happened, then even decades later, traumas would bleed through, into my thoughts from no where and I would not deal with any of it and laugh it off, as if my life is of no importance. I still have work to do, probably Gaga does as well. I could see myself in Gaga's shoes tonight, tripping up and cheerleading a man like Biden but denouncing a same sort of man, like Trump. Victims of sex crimes tend to act this back and forth kind of way, even like you've mentioned above in your posts. It's just a hard road. Maybe I'd call it acting out in unnecessary extremes, like Gaga went overboard about Joe. I am unsure.

Your feelings are valid! We are all on journeys. The thing is if for some crazy reason I was able to talk to Gaga about this, it would be coming from a place of love and understanding. Like I just want to know how she is justifying it. I understand but I just want to know more. Not to blame or shame but just to have a conversation...

the truth is the world is not black and white. Sometimes there is no ‘right’ answer or choice, and how could we truly know what is in someone’s heart or mind without walking in their shoes.

I don’t want to judge her but sometimes she makes things very clear about her values whether she intends to or not.

Y'all making Biden out to be some evil maniacal figure from BS "accusations" is such a 2020 move. If anyone tried to peddle that on the forum, they will be met with a ban for trolling just like every other right-wing troll that hops on to only discuss how much they hate Biden & Gaga.
