I see where you're coming from, but he usually gives criminals a good beating, and making all those gymnastics across the city must surely demand some solid muscles. Regardless of that, I think the point is that the comics always portrayed him as muscular. I don't see why Robert thought he could do any different. I mean, look at the transformation Bale went through to play Batman.

I do acknowledge older Batmen were less... buff (i.e. this: https://i.redd.it/qaom0ecgbtc11.jpg :toofunny:), although I guess that was a result of limited workout techniques and budget at the time. Ever since Tim Burton's Batman, he's always been muscular. Robert took the part knowing that, and the director explicitly told him to work out, so there is no excuse for him not to do it. He's just not performing his contractual obligation as due.

Gymnastics actually are better by lighter smaller frames! So really if he’s that thin he’d be a fine fit. They clearly just want a thrust trap scene of him shirtless and that’s why they want him buff. It’s transparent and almost a requirement in modern hero movies and it’s awful lol

Also you all only knowing his work in Twilight saga clearly don’t know a thing about amazing movies he’s been in. He’s an amazing actor and him as a Batman makes total sense. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to see why he’s been cast in this project. It only takes few hours to watch his movies and to find that out.

That being said he should do what director wants him to do. Also why is this taken seriously? Let’s wait for some reputable confirmation.

Bruce Wayne/Batman is a legendary character with distinct characteristics. His physique is one of them.

If Robert wants to play this character, he should respect the source material.

If he wanted to make a statement about which body image is better fit for the role he would’ve declined the role and made a public statement telling why he turned it down and the crazy expectations. Not take the role and delay production time because he doesn’t want to fulfill the contract :air: you don’t just become a butcher and then get mad because you’re vegan and can’t harm animals.

I think this needs to be said; Doomcock is NOT a reliable source by any means at all and anything they say might as well be ignored. They’re a YouTuber that thrives off of spreading false info to create negative reactions in the viewers to drive his view count. I should know, in the Star Trek community he’s known for repeatedly making up and spreading false information about the Star Trek franchise (even though after everything he still for reason has a dedicated base that will follow anything he claims), so bad to the point that someone within the Star Trek community created a fake account on 4chan and planted wild rumors on the website for months to expose them, and it worked. Channels including Doomcock immediately ran with all their wild stories claiming it was their “trusted source” within the company who told them it and then the youtuber exposed it all in a video.

Doomcock is literally the equivalent of a fake Gaga twitter insider who claims to “know someone”.

How reputable is this source though? This would be a really easy story to fabricate based on rumors, conjecture and things people are already saying about Rob. Not sure I believe it. :triggered: Matt Reeves seemed happy with everything that they shot in Q1 this year (which you see in the massively acclaimed trailer). So why would he suddenly want Rob to look different when they resumed shooting?

Rob is playing Batman when he is very early in his career of crime fighting. This is what that looks like in the comics, he's not super buff yet:

It’s not a reputable source (see the post I just made) he’s known for creating and running with wild rumors to drive his viewer count for $$$.

Thank you! :applause:

Now let's watch the trailer again where Rob looks fantastic.

I find Star Wars and Star Trek boring yet I would never claim that the whole world finds it boring too lol Star Wars has been successful for a reason, just like Batman. YOU find it boring

He's probably the most popular comic book hero, but OK.

Btw. I'm still salty that Ben Affleck didn't get to star. He's one of the greatest Batman actors ever. Absolutely badass. Also I wanted Zack Snyder to direct. I know he's... ehm... controversial and many consider him to be far right/fascist (seriously look it up:what:) but I love his style and his take on Batman.
The greatness that could have been:lana:

When that's said, I like Rob Pattinson and I'm sure he'll do great.
