What's that gotta do with how Reeves decides to cast Pattinson?

Because it’s the implication that he’s been cast because of nepotism, not because he’s a talented actor who’s worked hard.

Okay I think I should add, that if Matt Reeves wants Rob to buff up, he should do that, it is Matt's vision after all. It sucks that there are clashes on the set. I really want the movie to succeed and be as good as possible. But generally I don't care if he's buff. Batman is literally a martial arts expert, with a bulletproof suit and a huge number of gadgets. He doesn't have to look like John Cena to fight crime. It's a superhero movie, it doesn't have to be realistic. But can't they just like, make his suit in a way, that it makes him look buff. It's not like they have to show his body.

Besides it's not like he's straightup frail or anything

Yeah but he was supposed to be bigger and the stunts have been filmed.

What's the big deal with working out. Henry Cavil wasn't big when he was casted for Superman.

Ever since they announced him being casted as Batman, I knew it was gonna be troubling, and I don't even care for superhero movies, imagine when it's released, if stans don't like it, he's gonna be in trouble.

Well, the director has a point... How tf can you be casted for a superhero movie and not want to comply with the workout routine?

We could very well change the title to “stickman - the skinny knight rises”.

To be fair, Batman is more so a detective who uses tech and martial arts typically to disarm criminals and a brute force muscle look really isn’t necessary. It’s just because all other superhero movies have buff guys that they think Batman needs to be buff too.

Batman has always been buff in the comics though.

Brie Larson pushed a jeep...

Heck even JK Simmons worked out for his role as Commissioner Gordon in Justice League...

I see where you're coming from, but he usually gives criminals a good beating, and making all those gymnastics across the city must surely demand some solid muscles. Regardless of that, I think the point is that the comics always portrayed him as muscular. I don't see why Robert thought he could do any different. I mean, look at the transformation Bale went through to play Batman.

I do acknowledge older Batmen were less... buff (i.e. this: https://i.redd.it/qaom0ecgbtc11.jpg :toofunny:), although I guess that was a result of limited workout techniques and budget at the time. Ever since Tim Burton's Batman, he's always been muscular. Robert took the part knowing that, and the director explicitly told him to work out, so there is no excuse for him not to do it. He's just not performing his contractual obligation as due.

How reputable is this source though? This would be a really easy story to fabricate based on rumors, conjecture and things people are already saying about Rob. Not sure I believe it. :triggered: Matt Reeves seemed happy with everything that they shot in Q1 this year (which you see in the massively acclaimed trailer). So why would he suddenly want Rob to look different when they resumed shooting?

Rob is playing Batman when he is very early in his career of crime fighting. This is what that looks like in the comics, he's not super buff yet:

I’m going to assume that bulking up is part of his contract

if he doesn’t wanna do it, fire him.

Okay, that's a fair point.

But still, I feel like if you're signing up for a superhero film, you understand that it can be a physically demanding job. Whether or not Matt Reeves and Pattinson are butting heads, I guess we won't know, but what we do know for 100% fact is that Pattinson doesn't work out for the role.

If Reeves is fine with it, then we should be fine with it too, but if Reeves wanted him to work out, but Pattinson is denying it, then that's a problem. The actors have input, of course, but ultimately they are there to fulfill the director's vision.

In a normal job he would have been fired long ago

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.
