March34th 1,973 Posted October 8, 2020 Share Posted October 8, 2020 i dislike repetition in pop songs, short verses (like songs where each verse is like 8 bars then boom ur in the chorus), as well as songs that use ad libs or harmonization to fill time, like girl you could've wrote something new there but instead you said "mm, yeah, baby, i, oh, yeah, mm" for half a minute gaga has done this many times, some songs that come to mind are perfect illusion, and stupid love. it just gets bland, though doesn't necessarily make or break a song, just doesn't make it super interesting in my personal opinion. i enjoy songs that have strong lyrical structure over songs that are catchy with vapid or basic or repetitive lyrics.
