Chlorine 47,976
No comment. There is literally nothing I can say that would not sound problematic. But as a Brooklyn resident I've experienced these people and... yeah. Nothing nice to say. Although I'm back to z*ro w****g p*****s so maybe I can afford some disparaging remarks. Did they not learn from Spring that their little gatherings were part of the problem in the NYC area? Pretty sure they were considered super clusters at one point. reysus 1,064
It's so funny, I live in a neighborhood with a lot of jewish people and the Orthodox Jews constantly are packed inside with no masks ever (I live right across the street and see this all the time) but then I see Reformed Jews respecting social distancing, wearing masks, and holding outdoor ceremonies. Reminds me of that super Christian lady in Florida a few months back screaming about how it's her god-given right to not wear a mask or whatever. Moral of the story is religion can make people do ridiculous things

FATCAT 60,888
I understand their frustration, but gathering without masks in this way will only endanger FUTURE holidays from people that catch the virus and die. KNJ 4,312
I don't have the bandwidth for this Not for an isolating religious sect being on their bs and thinking they're an exception or being targeted because of religion. And not for the NYPD showing "incredible restraint and professionalism under menacing circumstances" here. Now. I hope some community leader could talk sense into them before tensions rise with non-OJ neighbors, again. But the article says different. Makes me wonder if this is happening with the Pennsylvania Amish... "She's an intellectual, your honor"

Makes me wonder if this is happening with the Pennsylvania Amish... Your post made me interested because I haven't heard much about the PA Amish community. From the few articles I read seems like their compliance is pretty much in line with the rest of rural PA, with maybe a bit more ambiguity due to not seeking medical treatment at the same rates as the non-Amish population. On the other hand, I do loosely "follow" other fundamentalist Christian circles and many of them are completely disregarding restrictions, holding large church gatherings, etc. But going back to rural PA, my family's Catholic church didn't even want to stop giving communion at first and everyone takes it off of the same spoon so...
