Fish 6,259 Posted October 7, 2020 Share Posted October 7, 2020 i mean the whole practice of cash bail is an issue that the US has been ignoring for way too long (we don't have that in canada) BUT, a few legal principles to be reminded, which are cornerstones of our legal system: 1) innocent until proven guilty 2) usually, courts are to release people charged of crimes waiting for their trial (the general rule), UNLESS, they present a risk of fleeing or danger to society (the exception).
