In pop culture nobody cares when christians are offended, why bother to care if muslim are?

Either respect all religions or none, the west is so hypocritical....

Everybody knows my whole opinion on the situation based on the other thread. But, if she felt compelled to make an apology, it shows professionalism. Regardless of whether anything was “offensive” or not, Rihanna does not play when it comes to business, and I can admire that.

If you can criticize, satirize, question, or mock a political ideology, I don’t see the difference with religion. Just because you have a deep personal connection with your god doesn’t mean everyone has to respect it. It sets a dangerous precendent and goes against all progress towards freedom of religion. We live in a secular society, no religion is free of ridicule

EDIT: Rihanna did not ridicule a people. She did not mock muslims. She “mocked” their god. (More so repurposed his word)

if she doesn’t believe in him, she shouldn’t be forced to apologize to him.

I respect her because she obviously doesn’t want to stir a pot and she may not know much about Islam (or maybe she does because of her Saudi boyfriend lol). These are just some hadiths, there are many more that don’t sound like most of this forum would approve of:

“It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said concerning those who do the action of the people of Lut: “Stone the upper and the lower, stone them both.” (Hasan)”

“Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet cursed effeminate men and those women who assume the similitude (manners) of men. He also said, "Turn them out of your houses." He turned out such-and-such person out, and 'Umar turned out such-and-such person.”

Coming from a muslim majority country, I can tell you 95% of people never read these or know what they’re about. These cannot be sacred as they’re full of hatred. I hope one day an artist can use these hadiths in their art to begin taboo conversations about religion like people do with Christianity without getting “cancelled”...

Islam is an extremely ridiculous and discriminatory religion that is not deserving of respect.

She wasn't having a "conversation" with they were literally shaking their asses to a sacred text. She's also, in the past, been kicked out of a mosque in Abu Dhabi for posing provocatively. Again, there's a time and place for these things and peoples religion/culture is not it. Also literally every religion/culture has flaws but that does not give anyone the right to mock/make caricature of it.

I didn’t make a comment about her having a conversation or what she has done in the past. I am informing people about what Hadiths are as I am more familiar than most people on this forum and this is the main subject in this thread. I expressed my hope for people to not be afraid to question a certain religion if it makes people more aware of it, like 95% of the people in my country that say their muslim but never read hadiths. This is a touchy subject and I only expressed my hope without wanting this to go off-topic.
