Are Haus Labs’ palettes bad?

Side note - I just watched her first Haus Labs review, where she was invited to the event and took home a bunch of free product. I personally have not watched this person's videos before, nor have heard of them. They gripe about being not in the same category as the higher volume influencers and not being considered a "VIP". Their disappointment is totally valid, but at the same time... An event like that - there's only so much time and it's not like Gaga ran it herself. The segment she talks about it is even labeled "time for the tea". Comes off kinda icky to me.

Could it be Amazon’s fault. Like imagine if the handler was Rihanna’s LMVH instead

Amazon doesn’t formulate the products, they just sell them.

Amazon isn't the one creating the formulas, it's only the host, like what is Sephora to Fenty Beauty.

What is done in the dark shall one day come to light.

I purchased several liners, glosses and glam attacks when it initially dropped and loved two of the glam attacks!! The liners are good but they aren’t any different than liners from other brands at sephora and the glosses I really wanted to love but they are thick and sticky as hell. I was hopeful for the palettes and ordered the glam room 1 but honestly sent it back because it was so bad (fall out, crumbly, not well pigmented) that I thought I must have got a bad one because of Amazon. The stupid love palette is a bit better but compared to other palettes at Sephora it’s not very good. I would say it’s more along the lines of NYX with Sephora prices. Her brand needs a lot of work on quality IMO as someone who wears makeup everyday and bought everything wanting to love it.

You know if you’re gonna try and drag her passion project through the dirt you can at least give her the blame too. So interesting how every time fans don’t like something she’s done it’s everyone’s fault but hers

i personally am not a fan of a lot of the haus labs stuff i’ve purchased. a few of the liners, a lip gloss, etc...i’ve found if i bought something similar at about the same price in urban decay or sephora it’s better quality.

I love the Glam Attacks but don't like the palettes as much. But I think the Glam Attacks and felt eyeliners are amazing! The lip glosses are nice, but lots of brands have nice glosses; same for the lip liners.

The only Glam Attack I'm not thrilled about is the blue one. I LOVE the color, but it goes on very patchy, and there's a lot of fallout. I think the other Glam Attacks are fabulous however.

They're just not great and are too expensive for what they realistically are. You are paying a premium because it is attached to Gaga not because the colour story is incredible or the eyeshadows are the most mind blowing thing:vegas:

I've been seeing reviews from Haus Labs since the first products got released. What I've seen is that the brand is good but not at the same level as the biggest in the industry. A lot of people think the brand is still short when it comes to products (which is true if you compare it with the releases of Fenty and Rare Beauty), and also it seems like the brand is not as crazy as they thought it would be coming for Gaga (I sore of agree with this, the palettes so far are very safe)

The eye-lie-ner so far is the best product of the brand (the black one specially), every review I've read has said amazing things about it being skip-free and super pigmented, and I've seen many make-up artists and drag queens using it (Gigi Goode, Kimora Blac, Willam, Shangela, Miz Cracker, Blair St. Clair, Shea Coulée).

The glosses and lip liners also had great reviews though people thought there were not mind-blowing. The liquid shimmer were like 50/50, some people loved them for the great pigmentation, but others weren't so entuastic because they were "hard" to manipulate.

The lip crayon received critical acclaim, I haven't seen any bad reviews about them. People loved the colors, durability and the tip for being very easy to use and soft.

The face lace was a 50/50, it's good for an over-the-top make-up but not for an everyday one.

Most people are still waiting for the foundations, councealer, highlighter and brushes (and deservely so), which is really what usually gets more reviews online.

I'm only good at being bad

To be fair, I have palettes from pretty much every brand and the Haus palettes are like on par with drugstore shadows. Really not worth the price, but a collector's item. I find that some of the shadows in the Stupid Love palette need a lot of work to look good on the eyelids, but it might work for other people. You need a good primer

Yep

Even the James Charles one which is cheaper and has a lot of colors is way better :(

I love gaga but these palettes aint it, the glamatacks and everything else is so good tho, THAT eyeliener is iconic.

Yeah I went back and watched that too and had the same thoughts. She has a relatively small youtube channel, I'm not sure why she was expecting to meet Gaga and get 'VIP treatment' at an event like this. It was just an event to build hype around Haus Labs, not something Gaga put together herself. I get that it's unfair but she said herself that it's just how the industry is and she was only expecting different because it's Gaga. Also, the top comment saying that Gaga's speech (that wasn't even shown in it's entirety) was a 'mess' because it was like something she'd say at a concert also threw me off... do these people not realize what a launch party is???

what crazy things can you do though with a makeup palette other than the packaging?
