All the cancelled promo plans etc (a lot of that is bought) & then the rescheduled tour which we think got redesigned and I bet that flooded show in Miami cost them a fair whack in equipment costs. Wonder if they wanted her to do all the planned stuff and she for some reason refused and that's why a lot of Mayhem things were kind of.... minimal at the start and got bigger as the era went along.

I dont think JFAD flopping so hard helped either. They definitely went into the bunker following that. The gays know how to party

Almost all the promo around Mayhem was left over contracts from Chromatica. The Fornite collab before the era, the Coachella headline slot, probably the Dress to Impress promo since it was at peak popularity in the pandemic and probably a lot more. Wouldn’t shock me if the Mastercard one was a left over promotional contract too since there was rumours of another music video after ROM being scheduled for Free Woman as a third single that got cancelled when lockdown happened, which would line up with why it was used in the Dom Perignon advert. Also, labels use fans as an unpaid marketing team nowadays, they spread viral moments on X, TikTok and Instagram. In fact TikTok nowadays is more valuable than any high budget video, I’m also sure that one of the pop girls recently exposed labels aren't willing to fund big budget videos anymore, because they don’t equate to sales anymore like they used to over a decade ago. Interscope funded Disease, because they assumed that JFAD promo and it being near Halloween would do some extra leg work. I would say it’s nice to see someone like Charli who’s still trusted to make good marketing choices.

Mostly agree - but Dress to Impress didn't release until November 2023. It was Summer 2024 when it went viral. So that definitely wasn't a left over contract. Fornite categorically is, Coachella idk about it being a left over contract but just good timing and having good street cred with the Coachella organisers.
