Please move. The American guilt this website breeds is pathetic. You can be a proud American and not agree with everything the govt does. That’s the same for every country. This website loves to bash America. Like damn, worry about your own country’s problems. Or, if you’re from America, and you want change- do something about it. Vote. Run for office. do something inspirational that evokes change.  Or get the **** out.

At least they’re not being cringey and telling someone to spend thousands of dollars, just to move to another patch of far away land because they cant handle mean comments online about a government that does not love its citizens back :legend:

Worry about your own country's problems? As if America's problems don't have an impact on the rest of the world.

And I fail to see why someone can't be ashamed of parts of their country if that be history, leadership or current affairs. The only bashing I see on here is when it's deserved.

Saddest part is, try and tell most americans this and they start babbling on about “ITS FOR THE GOOD OF THE WORLD AND FOR OUR PROTECTION CAUSE WE ARE THE BEST” but when you point out that their insane military budget can solve world hunger or send everyone to college or pay off everyones medical bills....you get a shrug.

Wanna know something else?

I hear a lot of Conservative Americans criticize the cost of Free healthcare and other benefits we have here in Canada and they talk about higher taxes

Here's the thing, Canada's main taxes (Corporate, Income taxes, Capital Gains Taxes) are actually on simmilar levels and it's a misconception that we pay much higher taxes. We did once apon a time decades ago (Canada used to be socialist to a much greater degree than it is now) so I guess the reputation of Canada being a high tax Nation stuck but that actually hasn't been the case in a long time

Even tho were not as left as many European Nations we do still have a lot of benefits the US doesn't and without higher taxes. And the biggest difference in our budgeting is the military allocation

The US can indeed pay for a lot of stuff it claims it can't if it just scrapped a few hundred billion off the military and allocated it into more useful investments

Also this big trade deficit Trump keeps blaming trade deals on, high military spending actually is a major factor even tho he won't acknowledge it. Those millions of military personnel (whether soldiers, technicians, janitors or anyone else that works for military) consume food and goods like anyone else (much of it imported) but they do nothing industrially productive that can be sold

Also fun fact, the US trade deficit and US military budget have often been closely related
