Revenge is never the answer - justice system driven by emotional impulse will only ever do damage, it does not improve society...

Also can we retire the notion that if you don't support physical punishment, you don't care about the victims... because chances are people unabashedly condoning this don't care about victims whatsoever, they want to see revenge enacted for their emotional satisfaction, not for the benefit of the victim - I've said it so many times before, I'm surprised so many people are completely oblivious to this...

But the Muslim part of the country that practices sharia law is still part of the country, if its shitty, then the whole country is shitty. For example, some states in America allows a 60 year old man to marry a 14 year old girl. You cant say only this state is shitty and remove responsibility from the country as a whole.

You are framing it like Muslims are the problem when Christians in Africa also support horrible religious laws like Child Marriages and female genital mutilation. The issue is not with Muslims or Christians, its with corruption, dictatorship, and education.

You seem to know nothing about the nigerian experience or its laws so just shut up okay . And i mean this in the nicest way possible .

Child marriage and gender mutilation  are 100% illegal in Nigeria as the age for consent is 18 according to the child rights act. The only place in Nigeria where people get away with child marrige are the Islamic  states because they use sharia law as a defence but even that is futile these days.same goes for gender mutilation. This is the fact.

It is simply the fact. Kaduna operates on the penal code .under the "penal code" punishment like  public whipping and mutilation are allowed .

Child marriage is illegal in Nigeria , female genital mutilation is illegal. If you are caught you will be prosecuted by law because Local customs are subject to the 1999  constitution of Nigeria .   I already gave you the relevant statute  that protections children but you chose to ignore it .

I never said it was not practiced, You said it was legal in Nigeria and i corrected you so admit you were wrong and move on . The fact that something is illegal does not automatically end its practice but its illegality is a great step to its eradication. For instance,  The fact that rape is illegal almost everywhere in the world does not stop its occurring 

All i did was state facts and explain why this new Rape law is only applicable in kaduna and is likely to stay there . It is kind of offensive for europeans to call underdeveloped  Nigeria shitty when most of the problems in Nigeria is largly due to the devastated state the colonialist left the coutry just 56 years ago .especially since this law is being kicked against by fellow Nigerians  who dont practice sharia law .

Also ,The fact that Nigeria has the highest  cases of female genital mutilation is largely due its population.
