She does that pretty frequently. Off the top of my head... “I wanted to Just Dance but he took me home instead” - The Fame Monster referencing The Fame ”You love the Paparazzi, love The Fame” - Chromatica referencing The Fame At the Met Gala she wore hair bows as a reference to The Fame hair bow. The greyhound and spark bra from The Fame era were both in the Bad Romance video. She has reinvented the Disco Stick for every era. The John Wayne gun heels are a reference to her gun bra in the Alejandro video. The iconic “finger ring” pose around the eye from the Poker Face video is referenced in the Telephone video. A reference, by definition, is in a little nod. You said Gaga has never referenced her own work outside of the ARTPOP era, which just isn't the case. Her art has always been full of self-references. You said she never repeats herself, (even setting aside the 100 people in a room meme) repetition is the key to her sucess. Ma-ma-ma-marry the night, ju-ju-ju-just dance, pa-pa-pa-poker face, Ale-Ale-Ale-Alejandro, sha-sha-sha-shallow, papa-papa-paparazzi, rah-rah-rah-a-a-roma, stop telephoning me-e-e-e-e.
