I think it's one of the best video essays period - highly recommend a watch... He starts out by discussing what attracted some people to the flat earth conspiracy theory, and later... well, I won't spoil it but it gets goooooood... and by 'good' I mean very unsettling Some notable quotes: "The end goal of conspiratorial beliefs is to simplify reality by attributing the high-chaos state of the world to a singular active force or group, opposed by an equally singular solution." "It gives them power over others who are bound by something as weak and flimsy as reality...They will effortlessly carve out an exception because it makes them exceptional. They engage in wild hypocrisy as an act of domination, adhering to something demonstrably untrue out of spite. Because they believe that power belongs to those with the will to take it and what is the greater sign of will than to override truth." Look, just watch it, it's so well written, and features some beautiful footage of Canadian wilderness It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke! Oh I do, not with a video-camera tho - I go out into the park and take pictures of foliage and stuff, in a kind of foe attempt to do macro photography (I don't have proper lenses for macro photography)...
