Lmao this sounds like those people whose arguments are "You hate capitalism? Well don't participate in it sweetie <3". 

First of all, you are assuming everyone is buying Gaga products here. I, for one, haven't bought anything since ARTPOP, since I cannot justify paying that much for merch or albums anymore. 

Secondly, what's really wrong with capitalism is that everyone is FORCED to participate in it. The world is forced to work that way. And no, "well you can leave society and live differently" is not an argument. 

I do not care if Gaga is trying to "break the system". She doesn't have to. Individuals have freedom to choose. And you do not have the right to dictate WHO people are going to be mad at or not. Like, enough with your whataboutism. It might be surprising but people can actually choose what they want to argue about. Y'all will preach freedom as long as someone does not say something that doesn't fit into your worldview. Well, yes, they have the freedom to sell anything they want. And surprise! We have the freedom of talking about it. Freedom does not only mean free market, it goes both ways, in case y'all forgot. 

Appreciating an artist does not equal to supporting everything they do. You know that, but since you don't have a real argument in protecting the rich, you pretend that you don't. Y'all KNOW profiting off of a pandemic - ESPECIALLY with gaudy displays of wealth like this, when many, many people lost everything over covid-19 - is inherently wrong. It is just that pretending it isn't is easier. 

Then again, most people here are way too indoctrinated, so who am I even talking to. You do you, gheys.

I’m just mocking the people that are like “eat the rich” while they support someone like Gaga is represents the rich elite. It doesn’t bother me at all how much money she makes, more power to her.

Am I the only one here who doesn't like the look of Louis Vuitton products? I think they all look kind of tacky, with that brown leather stuff.

But apart from that, people are allowed to produce stuff and sell it. Cheap mask options are available, so I see no problem. Don't like it, don't buy it.

I don't think anyone is claiming that Gaga is trying to "break the system," and she really has nothing to do with a thread that's about Louis Vuitton face shields unless she starts wearing them. 

The expensive masks she wore for the VMAs were part of her costumes, just as the expensive Chromatica-themed one she wore earlier in the summer was part of promo. We've seen candids of her in her day-to-day life wearing medical masks and simple cloth (? actually not sure what they're made of – thinking of the black one) masks.

What do you think is the alternative to capitalism? No matter the system you’re forced to participate in it. You’re forced to taxes every year or you’ll get arrested. That doesn’t necessarily sound like freedom.

I don’t even know what your views are tbh, but it just sounded so edgy to be using word like “proletariat” or “stop supporting the capitalist, you’ll never get rich”

I actually am a capitalist because I’m in the midst of starting up a small business. And you know what, I choose to want to live off the grid and live a simpler life away from big corporatism. So I guess that’s something we can agree about. I’m against monopolies and big corporations that take money from the middle man. I don’t like the idea that billionaires can find loopholes or how little choices we have in food choice and the media we consume when they’re all owned by 5-8 different companies. 

But that doesn’t change the way I feel about capitalism in general or the free market. That’s crony capitalism. As much as we want to admire the welfare benefits of Western Europe, they actually do represent capitalism better than America does. The free market with certain regulations is how we have a stable economy and guarantee prosperity to people. Not dismantling the capitalist system in general. Capitalism isn’t the problem, it’s crony monopoly capitalism and governments that interfere too much that’s the problem.
