I’m apart of BeyHive and everyone knows Bey’s lowest point was 4 era. Everyone came back to stan her when self titled and Lemonade dropped.

Incorrect 2x :excuseu:

1. We all know Telephone is not her worse song.

2. Beyoncé was not the hottest artists during that time. Outside of Single Ladies and Diva, Telephone collab is actually what put Beyoncé back on the map. Similar to Gaga doing Shallow.

WHAT?! :laughga: I Am Sasha...Fierce was epic and MANY hits came from this era

I’m kinda glad You and I was a single because it did well (in the US), is actually quite well known by the GP and provided that VMA performance.

But imagine Schiebe as a single :queenga:

The way you missed the point. :saladga:

Sasha Fierce dropped in 2008 and was a massive success. However, I’m referring to late 2009-2011 Beyoncé was not the top female artist at the time, Gaga was dominating along with Adele, Katy, and Rihanna.

You and i, since the song was already 1-2 years old at that point and i think she said she wasn't going to make a single. Also G.U.Y a bit since Venus/Gypsy/sexxx dreams/Aura all felt like bigger fan faves for singles than G.U.Y back in those days.

Honestly...

DWUW, G.U.Y., Million Reasons, Joanne (WDYTYG), Shallow, The Cure, and ROM were all shocking tbh.

Rain On Me? :selena:

It literally has H-I-T written all over it

It was shocking to see her ever doing a collab with a trending artist like Ariana plus making it single, since Gaga has conditioned us since ARTPOP that she is all about music not the bling. :ally:

VENUS

Even though it was never officially a single, it was once announced as one

and i was shocked when i heard it because despite liking it a lot, it’s not single worthy at all

Million Reasons... I mean, its a good ballad and boy did she milk it dry. But Dancin In Circles, Diamond Heart, John Wayne, and even Come To Mama or Hey Girl would have been my choice of a 2nd single. I didn't expect Joanne to be released as a single either.

DWUW would have destroyed carreers with a proper treatment :worship2:

And obviously, The Weeknd or someone instead of Rape Kelly would have helped with the longevity of that #1 smash. I hate to say it, but Kelly's performance was perfect for the song...

Yup, If DWUW was treated properly it would become the second smash from ARTPOP

be the breakthrough of Gaga into the streaming era, securing big numbers on those platforms in the future, and make everyone remember the era as another successful one, not comparing it with the last one

I mean, I guess so. But its not that shocking. She didn't collab with her because she was trending. Considering what the subject of the song is about, and given she's probably been through the most traumatic experience in her life in her early 20's, its not that shocking to see them express that together through the art medium of a song. What is shocking about the collab is that Gaga does the high note instead of Ariana, and that Ariana does things that are different with her voice than in previous songs.

Gaga being Gaga, I feel like she's kind of a mother figure to a lot of younger female musicians. Like Gaga said herself, she didn't have anyone to turn to for advice or support when she was starting out so she wants to be there for other. Wether they are trendy is neither here nor there. And it just so happens that Gaga and Ariana have a very close friendship because of it :vegas:  and probably from other times they have met

I do think Sour Candy is even more of a shocking collab than Rain On Me. And it was a promo single.
