Disco has always been alive. Never needs a revival

I would say Gaga and Bruno have been building up the culture to veer towards those decades.

For the current trend, 2018 was the year.

Are y’all actually forgetting Cher’s Dancing Queen disco album that came out in 2018? It was her biggest album in two decades and hit top 5 in all the major music markets, and included her massively successful world tour that included 107 shows.

Secondly, Chic’s long-awaited 2018 album It’s About Time, their first in 12 years, which included Nile Rogers collab with Gaga on I Want Your Love. In fact, throughout 2018/2019 remember we were all being teased with gossip about Gaga working with both Giorgo Moroder and Bollywood disco legend Bappi Lahiri?

I’ve been seeing this resurgence grow stronger over the past 3 years but I think it really gained when Diplo and Mark Ronson started their project, Silk City (where Electricity w/Dua comes from), and was sprinkled in with Calvin Harris’ releases as well. There have always been artists recycling/repurposing the sounds but I think those specific genres started to gear mainstream artists towards hopping on the train.
