After an internal investigation into working conditions on the set of "Ellen", news broke yesterday that three top producers on the show were fired just weeks before the daytime talk show is slated to return for it's 18th season. All throughout 2020 the internet has been abuzz with allegations against Ellen DeGeneres ranging from the petty to the abusive; social media users and former fans of the show have also been consistently resurfacing clips from past interviews that purport to show Ellen being mean. The firing of  producers Ed Glavin and Kevin Leman, along with co-producer Jonathan Norman, came after Ellen blamed her top-level staff for the negative culture behind the scenes and pledged to make changes in the near future.

DJ tWitch, a professional dancer and fixture of the show, is being promoted to co-producer.

There’s too much hate-bandwagoning I see in social media on Ellen just because of what? She’s friends with Bush? Most accounts only want to chase clout and get thousands of likes and retweets.

There are allegations that her workplace isn’t good. I don’t understand how this is “hate bandwagoning”....Regardless of who it is, if the workplace isn’t safe or healthy, people should be called out for it. Simple as that. I frankly don’t understand why there are people defending her. Unless you’ve worked for her in the past, you don’t know what it’s like. I’d take the words of former employees before anyone else.

Not The Real Gaga

I still don't know what to think about this. I don't believe she is a bad person, most likely flawed like everyone else. The problem is that she's famous, which makes her a much easier target. She isn't personally responsible for everything that has happened. Fortunately, she seems committed to make chances going forward and secure a better work place for her staff.

Leadership starts from the top. If her workplace is toxic she most likely has something to do with it. Even if she wasn't the cause of it, she still knew about it and did nothing, which is bad too.

I don't think she is directly responsible for everything that happens behind the scenes of her show. She hired producers and other staff members to take care of that.

I'm not talking about her behaviour. Like I said in my post, I absolutely believe she is flawed, makes mistakes and acts inappropriate to others sometimes - like all humans.

Well we all know the stories about multinationals, why isn't there so much outrage about their CEO's as there is about Ellen?

Wait until you hear the toxic workplace environment in Amazon. My point is, thousands of workplaces are toxic. But I don’t see the constant posts or reactions about them? Where’s the Amazon boycott? Why singling out Ellen? I am not defending her or anything, it’s just it quite obvious that these constant talk about the issue isn’t really about that particular workplace but more on some weird deep seated reasons to hate on a popular personality.

There's been a huuuge Amazon boycott going on for months, if not a year.

Also Ellen literally addresses not wanting to be nice all the time and not being at all relatable or understand regular people anymore in her Amazon Prime (lololol) standup special. The theme of the entire show is the fact that she's too rich and famous and disconnected from reality now.
