Because in so many voters eyes, Trump and Biden are indistinguishable, and as they say, better the devil you know.

I disagree. I think the majority of voters see a stark difference between the two and it's especially true with the voters that'll hurt Trump the most -independents and Republicans.

Biden's able to shave off support from people who would otherwise hold their nose and vote for Trump if a more progressive candidate (like Bernie) were the candidate.

The trade off is that the left isn't as jazzed about voting. Which block is bigger? Well, I'm not sure. If Democratic voters have proven anything from the 2016 and 2020 elections it's that the majority of them support leftist policies but they're aren't willing to vote for a leftist politician. They aren't willing to take that risk.

I'm not sure why though :toofunny: if Republicans can win with an alt-right Klan stand-in, surely we can win with a democratic socialist :toofunny:

This is all temporary in my opinion though. The younger generation will for sure be up to the task of giving us good leaders. Millennials and Gen Z are kinda fed up with the state of the world and our generations have shown an awareness of social and economic issues not seen in X and Boomers. Common sense stuff like "hey, what if people didn't have to choose between eating and getting their prescription meds?". I can't wait to see more AOC's pop up :flutter: it's only a matter of time.

what are you talking about, economics is certainly not the "easiest course you can take." Maybe the most fundamental concepts are "easy" but the whole field is essentially trying to describe people's choices on the aggregate. i personally think it's a little made up, but it definitely isn't easy by any means, particularly a higher ed class.

Love Cardi using her platform for this.

You could be right. I hope you are right. US politics should be better than what it currently is. I hope to see more of Andew Yang in the near future.

Kids own the future and kids seem to not be buying into the crap that our current system spews. I'm hopeful :flutter:

Hope is beautiful and necessary thing for a young person to have - but you have it, and I hope it spreads :kara:

Too bad Cardi B, he is a politician. That is all he has got, empty lying promises.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Sorry, but the Biden's "Build Back Better" adoption of the Green New Deal is the biggest example of blatant pandering to get votes that we've seen. Do we really expect the same establishment Democrats who rejected and dragged AOC for that to all of a sudden actually work to implement many of its ideas?

Truth is Biden would be the biggest puppet President since George W. Bush. At least GWB didn't make senile mistakes.

cardi? playing who exactly? even if this were pandering to her younger audience (which i highly doubt it is, if she were truly trying to "play us like a fiddle" she wouldn't enter the political arena), she's still using her celebrity to publicly hold Biden to his pledges and push him leftward.

i doubt it really changes anything with Biden, but i'd much rather see engagement than apathy (which is what silence is).
