What? There have been congressional hearings about Facebook's usage of personal data.

i mean more of the general public. it feels like everyone is having a meltdown over privacy concerns when stuff like google homes collecting audio recording happens all the time. and no one really cares compared to the tiktok stuff.

They're backtracking on it now

Probably because once it broke - tiktok called and said “wanna buy us?”

and Amazon was like “yes we would love access to even more peoples personal private info”

Uhh. This is pretty clearly not about privacy. It’s a security concern for Amazon.

the entire reason why people are up in arms abt tiktok is because they allegedly collect clipboard data from cellphones.

Well if that’s true that’s probably why amazon is scared, cause people copy and paste their passwords.

It wouldn’t be an overreaction in any way to require this tbh.

Your getting lost focusing on the tree instead of the forest. TikTok is a huge mental health booster for hundreds of millions of people. Nothing else matters if you’re mentally damaged and you’re definitely not gonna operate effectively in that state.
