We are based on structure and fairness There are states where it’s literally against the law not to wear one. My state just mandated it last week and it’s a misdemeanor with a risk of jail time. It is against the state’s Executive Order, which means that police and stuff and enforce and insist you wear one. But they are not “legally required” in the sense that anyone can be prosecuted or charged for not wearing one. That would require a bill to pass the state Congress, which would be seen as tyrannical and likely be challenged in court for violating the 1st Amendment right of expression. If I need to go out I still wear a god damn mask and if it's too much of an issue if I'm inflamed from allergies or something, I stay the **** home.
