In the years after the 2016 #PizzaGate scandal, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube managed to largely suppress (the debunked conspiracy theory) PizzaGate. But now, just months before the next presidential election, the conspiracy theory is making a comeback on these platforms — and on new ones such as TikTok — underlining the limits of their efforts to stamp out dangerous speech online and how little has changed despite rising public frustration.

PizzaGate no longer focuses on Mrs. Clinton and has taken on less of a political bent. Its new targets and victims are a broader assortment of powerful businesspeople, politicians and celebrities, including Mr. Bieber, Bill Gates, Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey and Chrissy Teigen, who are lumped together as part of the global elite. For groups like QAnon, PizzaGate has become a convenient way to foment discontent.

PizzaGate is reaching a level that nearly exceeds its 2016 fever pitch, according to an analysis by The New York Times. TikTok posts with the #PizzaGate hashtag have been viewed more than 82 million times in recent months. Google searches for PizzaGate have skyrocketed.

Spoiler

Guys PizzaGate is ridiculous and if you believe it, please educate yourself on the many reasons it's an impossible situation in the way that it is being sold by the alt-right

I would say it’s funny, but it’s alarming how easily people fall for this stuff.

Social media is the pits of humanity tbh

Born This Way

I don't believe Pizzagate HOWEVER I feel like ever since 2017, MeToo, Jeffrey Epstein, ect. it should be obvious a lot of ****ed up stuff has been happening and there is some rampant p*d*phila and abuse going on that people get away with just because they're rich.

I definitely don't believe the political conspiracy theories like Pizzagate. That's right wing theorists making child abuse into something they can gain influence from.

I voted no btw. I hope people only voted yes because they don't know the source.

You won’t get any help from them, while there a couple of good ones I have encountered 2 recently who publicly and privately defend a pe*o. That’s why I haven’t been online for a few days.. needed a break from this mess

This I agree with. But to drag the entire upper-class into it, as PizzaGate believers do, is whacky.

I don't believe that everyone associated with Jeffrey Epstein is automatically guilty of anything (e.g. Bill Gates, Naomi Campbell, Chelsea Handler). If your coworker was arrested for p*d*philia, that doesn't mean you are guilty by proxy.

tldr, its important to be aware, but don't just buy whatever anyone's selling

The reason these conspiracy theory has gained so much transition is because of Trump's "Fake News" narrative--and now everyone thinks the upper class and the media are actively working to hide their crimes (which is ridiculous, the amount of coordination that would require is impossible).
