There will always be a few that don’t like certain songs, but from what I’ve heard, Fun Tonight gets a lot of positive feedback. My Opinion- it almost sounds like a Joanne Song. If you were to replace the electronic instruments with more accoustic and raw instruments from Joanne- the song has that Americana, country-esque tone to it. Her vocals are even kind of “Joanne” when it comes to pronunciation. I really feel she wrote this for or during the Joanne era. The song is one of my favorites on the album due to its clear and unique chorus. She rushes phrasing during the chorus, and jumbled words and gives it this unique sound. That's a pretty interesting way to look at it. The song grew on me because of its lyrics and I'd love to hear a piano or demo version. It’s a bop, it feels so sad but u just wanna dance like it’s ur only way out, i’m really emotional listening to it. Idk how to explain that, but it is such an amazing feeling and so well written and produced And i think if she does it with a piano, we gonna cry all our tears out. And honestly that’s the biggest problem with Chromatica. Free Woman first drop - Super basic and safe AF Fun Tonight drop - Even more generic Sine From Above drops - Dated back to 2012 1000 Doves drop - Another safe sounding rehash Imagine what Chromatica would’ve been if she had taken a bit more special/experimental/darker approach like Magdalene, with less generic breaks, that sound unique, more chaotic and give a sense of atmosphere. Also the fact that she is the queen of catchy hooks but two thirds of the album are dance breaks is beyond me. I still love her and it’s a fun album to listen to, but the potential it had...
