PrinceGaga 7,644
Hey ya'll so I live in NZ and we haven't had any new cases of COVID-19 for 17 consecutive days - the last one being 22 May. About an hour ago we got the really good news that we now have no active cases of COVID-19. It has been 48 hours since the last case has showed no symptoms, which is the timeframe for being classified as recovered. Currently NZ is operating under an Alert Level framework, ranging from Levels 1 - 4. Level 4 being full lock-down. At the moment we are on level 2 and in about 40 mins time we will get an update from the Government as to when we move to Level 1. Level 1 basically means everything back to normal except contact tracing and border controls remain - so no international arrivals, only NZers returning home but they need to quarantine for two weeks. Hopefully in the coming days we can go about our normal lives again! This is what happens when you have a queen for a prime minister who makes quality (evidence-based) decisions quickly and efficiently Being a small island nation at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean with water borders helps too obvs. I know there are some kiwi monsters on here so we can celebrate by dancing to ROM in the club soon enough. UPDATE: NZ is moving to Level 1 on Monday 11:59pm NZST https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/political/418524/prime-minister-jacinda-ardern-reveals-move-to-level-1-from-midnight
