Because, like, who is she? How is this real? Just two months ago she looked like she was in great shape. 2) Love. Because I've gained so much weight since Corona started. I've been afraid to leave my apartment because of past trauma with body shaming from being an overweight kid came back in full force. I'm back to having anxiety attacks if I can't find the right clothes to wear that people will see me in, since most of my clothes don't fit right now. And if Lady Gaga can talk to the WORLD having gained the COVID "19" once or twice like I have, then god dammit I can go outside in front of 50 people at the store. 3) Disgust, anger, and sadness. Because the comments in this thread reminded me why it's not safe to be seen in my current body. And that even a community built around kindness and positivity isn't kind to overweight people, even the woman who built the fanbase. This album was delayed and delayed and delayed. Everything she's spent years working on to promote it has been cancelled or delayed. All of the work she has put in, ruined. She is probably (and understandably) depressed. Like I am but likely worse since I had no plans for this year. And most of the comments here are heartless and lack any empathy. Plastic Doll really hits different now, doesn't it? I can't moderate what's said on GagaDaily. But no one's self esteem is the price to pay for you to get your funny post in or exercise your right to share your honest opinion. Please just think twice before posting something. Imagine you're standing in front of her, saying it to her face. Then decide what you want to say. what Gaga doesnt look FAT if thats FAT i wanna be that Gaga looks the heathliest ive seen her in ages and how dare people body shame i guess SOME people have nothing better to do whilst in lockdown than bully and be mean

Media and celebrities want to shove down our throats the perfect skinny legend type of shape and it is not REALISTIC. It is perfecly normal for a woman to start gaining weight after they reach adulthood. It is HORMONES. It is perfectly normal for a woman to have more fat than men, this is how we were meant to be! It is perfectly normal to have belly BECAUSE WE NEED IT FOR OUR ORGANS. I am an ally for LGBTQ+ community but gay culture body idealisation must stop. Women are not meant to be muscular! Women can look however they want. Women don’t need to starve to look good. I am completely aware of those mechanisms, yet I am ashamed to be naked sometimes and I’m size M... Does people realize what those online comments do not only for Gaga but EVERY OTHER FEMALE that is reading??? Thank you! I truly don’t think men understand women’s bodies tbh. We put on weight easier, can get bloated once a month, can’t eat as many calories as men, etc. But I’m glad to see all the positive comments from most of our guys here. God Control 2,181
I don’t even get why gaining weight or the word “fat” is even used in a negative light. Like why does someone have to always look fit or skinny but never a little more chubby?
Zilla 13,346
I think it's important to have this discussion because from reading threads from yesterday and today, there's a lot to be learned about body shaming and asking women if they are pregnant. Now I will be writing a rather long post so get ready for it. It's HARD being a human let alone one in the public eye. We seem to be the only species on Earth that does this to each other, and it is disheartening. We just can't like exist without these thoughts and that's also disheartening. With Gaga it makes it 4000000x worse because 1. she's a public figure and 2. most of the shaming is coming from her own fanbase and 3. she's a woman. Women get so much more shaming across the board than men and that's a fact. I made a post in a deleted thread last night, the worst thing you could possibly say to a woman is if she is pregnant or not based on fullness. There are women that have spent their entire fertile lives trying to get pregnant and it just opens a can of worms and breaks their hearts if they weren't able to conceive. It's seen as insensitive. Not to mention, fullness doesn't equate pregnancy. A woman's body is delicate with hormones and what not. What goes on in a woman's body is HER business, nobody else's. Please respect that. I'm honestly disgusted by comments made by "fans" that think it's okay to fat shame their idol. You are aware that she has a lot of health issues, you know her story. We are so blessed that she is even ALIVE so we don't need any negative bullshit by people claiming they support her. I feel like this is another reason why she doesn't talk to us anymore, please respect her and who she is. I'm also disheartened to read that so many of you are insecure about your bodies. Miss Rona didn't help either that bitch lol. Just know that I love you regardless of how you look, I too have body issues (PCOS, hormonal issues etc) so I'm right there with you. I was shamed in my pics with Gaga, hell I have had threads made that I OD'd in McDonald's and stuff years back. Words hurt, but just know that that bullshit doesn't matter as long as you yourself are happy and are living your best self (save the medical BS please). I try to pick out the things I do have and am grateful for. If anyone would like to talk, PM's are always open. I'm here for you 𝙸'𝚖 𝚊 𝚓𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚓𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚎𝚜 𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚐𝚒𝚛𝚕. Franch Toast 25,913
Several well-meaning users have offered reasons for why she may have gained weight, but the thing is, she really hasn't gained weight. We saw photos of her from literally a few days ago with her walking around in underwear and fishnets, and her weight seems more or less the same – the woman is still tiny. But I feel disgusting even writing that sentence, because her weight is not our business. It's not. Even well-intentioned comments about her medication, the quarantine, etc. impacting her weight are actually kind of gross. (For all of us, our weight will naturally fluctuate, especially for cisgender women due to our menstrual cycles.) Anyway, the angle, lighting, lack of professional makeup, etc., and the fact that this is a still captured from a video while she was speaking mean that this is not a photo that she posed for, and thus she's not going to look as good as she would otherwise. It's an awkward photo because she has a weird expression on her face as she's in the middle of saying something, and that vest isn't figure-flattering. And please don't speculate that she or any other cisgender woman is pregnant just because you perceive that she's put on weight. If she ever gets pregnant, she'll tell us when she's ready. Trust me, it is incredibly annoying and hurtful when people assume you're pregnant and you're not. A couple years ago, I'd just finished working out and stopped by a take-out place to pick up lunch. The woman ringing up my order looked at me and said, "Oh, you're pregnant? Congratulations." I was not pregnant, and in fact I had lost 40 pounds and was feeling pretty damn good about how I looked, but I was wearing an oversized T-shirt that ballooned around my mid-section. I corrected the woman as politely as possible and told her I was not pregnant, but she did not take the hint, and said, "Oh, then you just had a baby, right? Son or daughter?" I gave up. She wasn't a native speaker of English and seemed well-intentioned, and clearly she was clueless as to her mistake and could not fathom that I hadn't been pregnant recently, so I just told her I had a new daughter at home, picked up my food, and boycotted that restaurant for a while. And you know how I felt when I walked to my car with my food? Sh*tty. Like the 40 pounds I'd lost were meaningless. Anyway, tangential PSA: don't make assumptions about what people may or may not have in their uteruses. What if you said that to someone who'd just had a miscarriage? Or someone who wasn't pregnant but has been struggling with infertility? Or you know, someone who happened to have put on weight, or someone who was wearing something not very flattering? Trust me, nothing good comes from assuming people are pregnant. If they're pregnant and want you to know, they'll tell you. Unless they have a very clear baby bump, as in, they look ready to pop, or they're wearing one of those shirts with a corny slogan like "Bun in the oven," do not assume anything.
