Edit: I want to make it clear since people are commenting on only the title. They didn't resign from the police force. They aren't dumb enough to lose their income. They resigned from the Emergency Response Team to show support. Honestly I watched it on the news during my dinner and I wanted to cry I had to take a minute to get myself together and not cry in front of my family.
